Thanks for the correction I did mean to say inside mid so my post did need correction.

Fly said he met with Finn more than any other player in 2023 to assure him.of his place in the clubs plans going forward, so I'm basing this more off that than anyi insight of my own.
Thought you might have been implying that. Fingers crossed 🤞, he can step up as that inside grunt mid , certainly gets his hands on the ball enough

Just reading between the lines on that Fly pep talk to reassure Fin that he is valued moving forward , from the outside looking in , the kid does look a bit introverted, just my observation, Fly doing what Fly does best, giving the kid the best chance to be the best he can be, all will unfold moving forward .

Plenty on our list had down years who aren't over the hill.

Stengle had solid enough scoring metrics but his overall game and consistency was well down. Some might think 2022 was a flash in the pan but his ceiling is one of the premier small forwards in the comp.

De Koning was poor after being excellent in 2022. He has massive upside.

If J.Henry can stay on the park he could be one of our best few players and an elite interceptor.

Cameron fell of a cliff in the back half of the year, especially as injuries mounted. He still has near-MVP potential like the first 8 rounds of 2023 and most of 2022.

Not from a Carlton perspective, but if Mac Andrew takes his game and consistency to the next level in 2024 (and I see no one reason why he won't) Gold Coast will come very close to playing in their first ever finals series.

Maybe another 12 months away, but Big Mac has all the tools and ability to be the best intercept marking defender in the comp

He kicked 41 goals this season and has only come off a knee it wouldn't be out the question to see improvement for Hippy

Hipwood is also soft and not aggressive enough attacking the ball. A 45 goal season is his peak/ceiling imo

I would happily pay my first this year and next for him. To me, that is a gun.

I wouldn't (from a Hawthorn perspective)

Thillthorpe will be a solid/serviceable KPF?/pinch hit ruckman, but I feel like his ceiling is not one would hope for from a former number 1 draft pick. But I have been wrong before, and am more than happy if RT proves me wrong

Tall forwards who can ruck are just such a challenge to get. You have a pair of great kpf, but most clubs just don't. The last time hawthorn drafted a decent KPF in the first 3 rounds his name was Buddy, and to get him (and rough) it took a handful of top 5 draft picks. Tall forwards, especially ones with rucking potential, are just so regularly a bust. You got to see this first hand with Kreuzer (nobody's fault, that is just how it goes with talls).

And I really like the look of the career RT is building, not so much from a stats perspective but on the eye test.

Anyhow, as other hawks have said, if Lewis can stay on the field that would be an immense improvement for us.
