Hope I'm wrong re Judd.

He will not be in Carlton's best 8 players this year imo. From my selfish point of view, not how i want to see a champion end his career.

I didn't mind watching Lenny Hayes last year. He battled away. He was miles from his best and he was in a lousy team. I think Juddy can do the same without losing any respect. He looks in much better knick than last year anyway so maybe he will wind back the clock.

That's a good call.

Juddy seems different somehow. Maybe because of his explosive, athletic style of play.

Happy to be wrong.

I agree completely. However, i feel Tayte Pears (Among others) output is better than Dustins, yet, Fletcher keeps getting games. This is damaging the development of pears and taking up a useless list position.

Oh you silly silly man

Menzel :cry::cry::cry:

Hope he comes good, would be the best feel-good story of the year. I'm nervous though...

Wow at that comment. I could not disagree more strongly. Tayte has been injured the majority of the time over the 4 years and when he hasn't been injured he has not played well at all and is probably closer to being delisted than anything. Fletcher earns his spot by being in the best 22 players. He may no longer be AA calibre key defender but he's still a fine 3rd tall, with a brilliant kick who can play on a range of players. In fact if it hadn't been for the fact that Fletcher was injured in our finals game last year - its very possible we would have won - given Steinberg was towelled up by Ben Brown and we only lost by 2 goals.

In fact the lack of a decent 3rd tall defender (without robbing Carlisle from our forward line) other than Fletcher is probably why we grabbed Gwilt in the first place. Time will tell if that's a successful move or not but yeah Fletcher hasn't been holding back anyone deserving in terms of games.

McPharlin but only if his body breaks down again. If the club manage him right then there is no reason why he can't have a good season.
I'm not wishing it upon him by any stretch because I actually like McPharlin, but it wouldn't surprise me if he is this years Darren Glass

Goodes and Petrie for me. I though both of them were done at various points last year and I doubt an additional 12 months will help them a great deal.

You wouldn't say that if you had to watch Pears week in week out. The argument against Fletcher is if he retired then Carlisle would play back and therefore Fletcher may be harming Carlisle's development. But last year the team was clearly better with Fletcher and Carlisle both in the team due to a lack of suitable options up forward.

I tend to disagree. Lenny had a great year last year and could have easily played on had there been finals on the horizon. He was better than Judd last year and the chances of Judd getting any better this year seem slim.

Montagna has become increasingly slow and lazy over the last few seasons.

May even finish the year at Sandringham as we complete transition from tons of old players and no kids to the exact opposite* this season.

*minus Roo, he can play until his blond hair goes grey as far as I'm concerned.
