with Carlisle and Ryder as well in the short term was likely to be about the least of our problems!

Yeah Im a little bullish about Saints . Ratten could be the recruit of the year ! Hope so , I really want Saints to win a flag soon .

That's a very big stretch re Ahern (who was very disappointing last season), but even disregarding that, I dare say there's at least one team with a much better under-21yo group in the comp.

Yeah, still just 25yo.

Kicked 44 goals (from just 17 games) at 22yo, and matched that total again this year (playing genuine key position, with Bruce the only genuine "tall" up there with him), for a top 10 finish in the Coleman.

Not bad for a "role player", in a below-average team, as someone described him earlier!
