Which team out of Adelaide, North and Hawthorn has the better youth? Part 2

As opposed to the sparse visit from a North fan who’s spent the best part of 6 months crying that the AFL needed to give them more draft picks, while also simultaneously declaring that they have the best kids in the comp. 😂
Big Footy has spoken on who has the best kids, but I think you've got the wrong North fan here. I've never called for more draft picks, though I have enjoyed the shameless melting they have caused. I predict it will continue for years.

The begging for more draft picks? That's a given.

I love how every media pundit and outfit who have done ladder predictors for 2024 have Hawthorn as bottom 4, but their fans act like they're a genuinely good team.

Ahhh gotta love the complete and utter lack of self-awareness. Footy banter is the best.

According to every media pundit we were tipped to finish bottom and be lucky to even win a game this year

and you finished 3rd last, above only a historically bad NMFC and West Coast.
What's your point?

You did finish bottom 3 after 2 of the worst sides in recent memory.
Not a resounding success.
Youngest list in the comp wins 7 and could’ve easily won 10, with every man and their dog able to see that there was a clear gap to the bottom 2.

Chol was never going to be best 22 for Adelaide or Brisbane

Yeah Brisbane and Adelaide being interested didn't make too much sense.

Though I suppose Walker can't last forever, and you seemingly only have two rucks on the list (ROB and Strachan). So maybe Adelaide wanted someone who could play forward and ruck without risking Tilthorpe.

But didn't.

North lost five close games by under 10 points, so I suppose you can claim they could have finished with eight wins.

Adelaide also lost five games by a single goal or under. I suppose you can claim you won 16 games and would have just been % out of the top four.

We got smashed in more games than North did (8 to 5). Our average losing margin was 41.63 points, whilst North's was 35.12.

When we got it wrong and played poorly we were generally soundly beaten. But I think that's par for the course with such a young side in transition - especially for an agressively attacking side and doubly-especially when we did miss our two most important players (Lewis and Sicily) for several games. At this point in our rebuild the team is really learning on the job (not saying others aren't too of course), so we can't afford to not have those two playing.

But IMO our best football was very impressive, especially for such an inexperienced side. Hopefully the inclusions of Ginnival, Chol and Watson means we can capitalise and get reward for effort when our midfield is on top.

I also don't expect our defence to be as leaky as it was last year; it got completely pulled apart with ease at times. But only a year prior it was a strength of the side.

I'm not claiming Adelaide were close to top 4. They weren't.

Hawks finished bottom 3. The competition moves on, there's no guarantee Hawthorn improve.

Crows were going after Choi to enable Himmelberg to join his brother at GWS.

Ie. He would be a backup to our best 22.

So what's Champion Data's past form like when it comes to their ability to predict bottom 3 sides becoming premiers? Are there any examples?
Doubt it, and that's not even what they're predicting anyway.

They clearly just captured a bunch of metrics that showed the improvement in the side, and how it compared to the better sides.
