Which team out of Adelaide, North and Hawthorn has the better youth? Part 2

Doubt it, and that's not even what they're predicting anyway.

They clearly just captured a bunch of metrics that showed the improvement in the side, and how it compared to the better sides.

Alright, so what's your prediction SYL?

Where do Hawthorn finish on the ladder in 2024?

They’ve pu the hawk behind where they finished 2023, which is the same as 2022-23
Which appears around the mark.

They have made some changes to the top 8.

Carlton missing is a surprise.

Seems fair based on last season. How accurate has this been for preseason predictions though?
Good question - would be good to see last season's projection.

There are usually 2-3 changes to the top 8, including a team jumping into the top 4.

It’s not accurate this early, and particularly now when only 3-4 models have been input.

Hawks finished bottom 3. The competition moves on, there's no guarantee Hawthorn improve.
Crows missed the 8. The competition moves on, there’s no guarantee Adelaide improve.

If only we had a ladder prediction thread….

Cute.

I've gone and found SYL's ladder prediction for those curious, since he 'laugh' reacts basically anyone in this thread (or any thread) who suggests Hawthorn will still be bad next year, it seems only fair we know what his expectations are for 2024.

Here's his ladder prediction:

1. Carlton
2. GWS
3. Sydney
4. Gold Coast
5. Collingwood
6. Brisbane
7. Port Adelaide
8. Geelong
- - - -
9. Fremantle
10. Essendon
11. Hawthorn
12. Adelaide
13. Melbourne
14. Western Bulldogs
15. St Kilda
16. Richmond
17. West Coast
18. North

Hawks above the 16 win Dees, 13 win Saints, and 12 win Bulldogs is quite the bold prediction.

In 2024, I reckon Adelaide will be top 8, with 12-14 wins. Some of that will be down to improvements from the young core.

North and Hawthorn will both be in the 6-10 win range. For NM, whether it’s at the higher end of the range or not will depend a lot on whether LDU, Thomas and Wardlaw can get a consistent run of games as the first choice on-ball brigade.

I imagine Curtin, the Wizard and Kerch will all appear early next year.

You could always ask for another draft pick or two to give you that pick me up you’re after.

Maybe we'll ask for one of the draft picks Hawthorn are going to lose for their shoddy administration and handling of the 'issues' in recent years?

North Fans talking about "Shoddy Administration"

Your inability to develop a sustainable culture is your issue, and it will continue to be until your club stops looking outward to blame and look upon themselves

North have had the Clarkson issue, which is out of their control, but honestly what else hasn't been their own doing through poor due diligence

Shaw?/Noble?/JHF?

Sheezel, Wardlaw, LDU, Duursma, Mckercher, Larkey and co should be the focus from the club, its an excellent young core

Not complaining about external issues

It stands to reason that when you can expect to have a single senior coach available for an entire season you can also expect more wins.

But when those wins inevitably don't come, will Clarko need to take another break?
