With all due respect our VFL side for the last few years would get pumped by 100 points we are going ok now.

So I see no harm in them tasting some success even if at the lower levels.

That's a fair point. Still just makes me cringe to see Howe with ball in hand. Great bloke but not an AFL level footballer.

Apparently is a great trainer so hopefully that rubs off. Shiels played in flags. We have no one else that would remotely understand what it takes to be a successful footballer.

Unfortunately the rot set in under Brad in his last few seasons or so.

Of course I’m disappointed in seeing these guys play weekly…

1.Scott
2.Turner
3.Taylor
4.Howler
5.CCJ ( well first game for the yr)
6.Hall
7.McDonald

None of them are any good

Gosh I hope someone offers Magoo aka McKay ridiculous coin.
We need the additional pick lol

Aged well
It's a Port Power thing.
If you watch any thread that involves the word Crow you will find them.
If there's a thread about a Crows player looking to move clubs there will be PAP supporters saying how the Crows can only expect a 4th round pick for him.
If it's a thread about a player wanting to come to Adelaide, there they will be saying how Adelaide need to pony up two first rounders for him.
They have this little brother complex.

Now you are saying he can only play well with Tex in the team. That's a big turn around.

So because Fog came into his own when the game needed to be won you are trying to say he is a downhill skier?

I have literally never said any of these things. As in not even close, nothing resembles it, you pull that one out of that giant football brain of yours.

Because he's a good 2nd tall you guys won the game.

I mean he literally just played in a winning team, as a role playing 2nd or 3rd tall alongside Tilthorpe.

Wasn't good enough to impact like Walker did, but that's OK, he might get off the chain in half the other games this year.

Just for emphasis - in 2013 our 3rd tall in the GF was a better player than Fogerty is at this point, by some margin.

Fog would be the number 1 forward target for Hawthorn, so he would most likely do well.

He would have disappeared in all but the last couple of games we've played.

Sink like a stone is what I said originally.

You can't get the ball, if it's not down there, or you're playing on three blokes.

Yet averaging more than 3 goals per game this year... which only a handful of players have done.

Players are judged on their form against all teams not just your team.

Can we stop with the Fogarty stuff? He's been great as of late and would be a welcome addition to most sides in the competition.

I don't disagree with you, but this is the forum where we discuss the youth development of North, Adelaide, and Hawthorn. If there was ever a place to throw out a mind-numbing take about Fog, this is the place.

Yeah Lewis/Fogarty would be a lethal combination.

If we created a best 22 with the youth of the 3 list what would it be?

Pretty sure that's just LDU, Day and 20 Adelaide kids.

Maybe, but I gave it a crack anyway...

FB: Michalanney, Logue, Jiath
HB: Sheezel, Butts, Scrimshaw
C: Soligo, Day, Nash
HF: Rachele, Lewis, Moore
FF: Fogarty, Larkey, Rankine
Foll: Reeves, LDU, Newcombe
Int: Thilthorpe, Zurhaar, Pedlar, Morrison

I think Logue is a bit older than the other guys but couldn't think of who else could be the FB.

Four of your forwards were running at 2 goals a game or better leading into last week if I'm not mistaken, but that's an honest point.

Murray is better than Butts.

Ward is missing.

Morrison doesn’t make it.

Tried to pick a team that was somewhat balanced, Morrison made it because he would comfortably slot in as cover across HB and the Wing, Pedlar can impact as a forward and Middle so they filled out the last bench spots. Ward among others was unlucky because his best footy is through the middle and he was behind a few. Post your team mate give it a crack 👍.

Think I got Murray and Butts mixed up but I probably should slot in Murray instead or Logue as he is a bit older anyway.

Yep I’ll have a crack soon!

The cut off for youth should be the 2018 draft and even they are now 5th year players.

Most of those blokes are 24 or 25.

Yeah good point, it felt old but was trying to mainly include players that have proven themselves at the level instead of half the team being in on potential.

It's harder than first look to keep it 22 and under because it's only 3 teams, unless you start picking blokes who you rate but haven't debut. Only picked 1 bloke who is 25 I think but plenty that are 24.

Also some positions take a bit longer for most players to establish themselves, ruck for instance and Key back. Alot of the time these blokes don't come on until 23/24/25 with the years prior being mainly development and growing into their body's.

Seems weird to shoehorn someone into a position say Thilthorpe into the ruck when he might end up something different and say a DGB into FB when he's still developing in the gym.

While it appears the North rebuild has been going for a few years, the reality is that we're in year 1 of a rebuild after a few false starts. There's a handful of players that form a really solid core, but a lot of rubbish to dispose of.
