I can, quite easily.

He's already playing more half forward this season that he has the last 4-5 years combined.

LDU, Phillips and Wardlaw will all be susbstantially better than him.

Sheezel and Thomas too.

There's 5 I have reeled off before even talking about the likes of Scott, Powell, Ford and Goaters potential around the middle of the ground positions and also excluding the fact someone like Duursma could be at North after the draft.

Simpkin will be a half forward down the track imo.

I guess it's just an illustration of the depth of talent we have in that position.
Simpkin last game against the Bulldogs. Do you watch your own games?

Perhaps you should just stick to posting your rankings for comedy gold...

There is really NOTHING you can say that will hurt my feelings. Post about my rankings where I took a year off work and made 65k in one year despite starting with $10 in my account. How many times have you done that?

Show me ONE GOOD post you've posted in this thread.

You misrepresenting yourself and others. Said that Amon had neverattended a CBA yet he Did!

At the point you just leave the thread but instead you keep doubling down. Baffling. 😮

So you ignore the context of the post completely, and even where I said “Amon is no youth”. Cool.

the context is you Brought up Amon unprompted, when the post you replied to was talking about youth.

You only admitted he was too old, after I mentioned he shouldn't be part of the discussion.

you then made another half dozen posts about about him because you couldn't resist trying to boast about hawthorn's off-season when it didn't belong int he thread

Lol, not sure why you would bring up earning salaries as some sort of comeback, when I make significantly more than that... but it's hardly relevant in a football thread.

I see you disagreed with my post which showed that Amon only attended 2.3% of CBA's... yet is a fact... which blew away your colleagues theory that he would be a significant inside midfielder.

Hawthorn are currently 13th for clearances differential but 2nd for centre clearances.
Hawthorn are 6th for the entire season on contested possession differential.

Hawthorn are unsurprisingly a huge gap on second for bounces differential aswell as bounces per game & totals.

Totals and averages they are ahead of Essendon, who for totals have 99 bounces. Hawthorn sit at 131.

Over the last month in particular. (Stat prior to the Gold Coast game, so slightly off)

The Hawks have been the Number 1 scoring team in the league, Rank Second for turnover score differential and Fourth from clearance score differential. Hawthorn are also the Number 1 contested possessions side in the league and the highest-ranked team in terms of efficient ball movement from defensive 50 to offensive 50.
Given all these high rankings by the Hawks it's a bloody mystery why they are not in the top 8 like the Crows.

It's one thing to get the ball, but it's another thing entirely to use it well...

Nobody said he would be a significant inside midfielder. You also said he NEVER attended a centre bounce when was averaging one a game. You're 100% incorrect. 100%. That's you are, 100% wrong. A theme with your posts.

As for salaries... You mentioned the power rankings as some kind of gotcha moment and I just showed how ridiculous your comment was. Again 100% wrong.

Another clueless post by you. The post you replied to was just having a look at the midfield part of the game, not the whole game.

Did you just intersect in the middle of someone else's conversation and put it out if context? 😂

No point getting the ball if you don't use it well... but hey keep patting yourselves on the back that the Hawks have one of the best midfields lol.

For the whole.

Hawthorn are currently 13th for clearances differential (-1.1) but 2nd for centre clearances.
Adelaide are 15th for clearances differential (-2.6) are also 15th for centre clearances (-0.6)

Hawthorn are 6th for the entire season on contested possession differential. (+2.9)
Adelaide are 9th for contested possession differential (+0.9)

Hawthorn were 4th for clearances but 18th for scores from clearance To 8th for clearances and 4th for scores from clearance. (Stat from 30/5/23) the scores from clearances is similar.

So...

Better performing midfield group (clearances, contested ball & other stats showing Hawthorn were damaging especially recently with ball use) :whitecheck:

An overall younger group, with 3 quality mids who aren't getting midfield time but also having 3 ish other midfielders (young and performing at high quality) + depth in the VFL dominating :whitecheck:

Hawthorn's midfield group is superior in a general & youth sense.

Adelaide have a quality forwardline, in general especially, very good in a youth POV aswell. But Tex is doing alot for that forward 50. Backline is good but again having a fair few notable older players or experienced players.

It's a thread about youth, Adelaide's youth isn't as good as Hawthorns, but it doesn't need to be. They're competing with a good gameplan, and they can just try pick and choose youth to replace their elder heads, the depth is the worry and the possible sustained success.

I have discussed with you before about how clearances are not the only metric for valuing the midfield.

Anyway, hawthorn's youth is not better than Adelaide's. Even if we say that hawthorn's midfield is ahead for now, Adelaide has the better forward line and the Crows defensive youth has gone past the hawks'

Newcombe is ranked no.1 in the AFL for hitting inside 50 targets.

If you think Will Day, McKenzie, McDonald, can't use the ball you really haven't been watching Hawks games.

So explain why the Hawks are nowhere near the top 8 if your midfield is so awesome.

Something doesn't add up... ;)

Said it once, will say it again, The Crows are never down for long, they always bounce back hard, not saying flags, but contention. Cracking football club.

Thanks mate. But this time...... it will be flags. 1 or 2 more decent mids (recruited or developed) and we'll be right in it for 5 to 8 years.

He cares so much about clearances yet

Adelaide are ranked 4th
Hawks are ranked 16th

Give us Taylor Walker and you can have Koschitzke and see where Adelaide and Hawthorn are on the ladder.
If you honestly think that 1 player is the difference between our sides, I can't help you.

We play a far different game style with better ball movement/higher skill level for starters... something which we were poor at for previous few years.

Better ball movement/higher skill level? Again you're showing you haven't watched Hawthorn play this year bar maybe one game.

Ask neutrals who out of the Crows & Hawks have better ball movement & higher skill level.

Did you miss our 3rd quarter against the Pies last week?

Again if the Hawks are so awesome, why the heck are they not in the top 8?
