A bigger deal out west.
Midfield looks fairly average
Forwards look good
Eh, we have Dawson for the next five years and beyond that is too far to have any real feel on what is going to happen.

You need a mix of experience and quality youngsters to win a flag.
It's why Hawks and North will take time.
We are closer by virtue of having decent players in that 25-27 range.
Who will be the best 24 and younger group? Time will tell.
But I'd be worried by the lack of quality key position players if I was a North fan. Midfield alone won't win a flag.
Sleevo 24We actually have fewer players in the 25-27 range than Hawthorn or North Melbourne. Our edge in performance last year came from our veterans performing at a high level. There can be no guarantee Tex has another year like last and he was a massive part of us doing as well as we did.
Players between 25-27
Adelaide
Murphy
Milera
Himmelberg
Dawson
Keays
Hinge
Hawthorn
Worpel
Morrison
Reeves
Lewis
Scrimshaw
Nash
Meek
Hardwick
Chol
North Melbourne

Fair bit of disrespect there to Nash who finished 3rd in the B&F and Hardwick. Add in Reeves who is a solid starting ruckWith respect to Larkey, Simpkin and Zurhaar, Worpel and Lewis.. Dawson, Hinge, Keays, Milera have had a greater overall impact.

Keays and Mileria are battlers.

Anyone claiming otherwise is hopelessly biased.
Dawson was absolutely superb. Incredible how massively Adelaide scammed Sydney out of one of the truly elite talents of the league.Dawson from the Crows was very influential and got a lot of Brownlow votes. Very fine player, almost knocking on the top 10 players in the league list

Just pipped Newcombe in Brownlow votes and coaches votes actually.
Mustn't be a huge gap between top 10 players in the league and overrated midfielders who aren't A graders by your logic?
I absolutely love Jordan Dawson as a player by the way. Went to the next level after changing clubs.
Don't worry, almost everyone is under-rating Newcombe. You certainly aren't alone.Okay I might have undersold Newcombe a bit (still prefer Warner though at Carlton)
His massive performances at Sydney any time he pushed into the midfield should have made it obvious for you. That was the moment I knew be would be a amazing recruit for the AFC
Meh… again one of the many issues with the premise of this thread is the arbitrary cut-off of youth being whatever suits the narrative. Bump that cut-off up a single year suddenly Adelaide and Hawthorn have the same quantity of “youth” in their top 10 (two).
Yep. The age cut-offs are so arbitrary, and they never seem to take into account how age is relative to position. I see Reeves (25) and Lewis (25) as youth but not James worpel (24) because I expect mids to mature faster.Meh… again one of the many issues with the premise of this thread is the arbitrary cut-off of youth being whatever suits the narrative. Dawson did. And I don't think that's biased.Very few players in the whole league had more impact than larkey in 2023.

Their finishing position says a bit about Hawks list tbh.Fair bit of disrespect there to Nash who finished 3rd in the B&F and Hardwick. Add in Reeves who is a solid starting ruck
Dawson and Newcombe were immense, but neither came close to larkey. Being a dominant kpf in one of the worst sides the afl has ever seen? I am not even sure the NM staff wanted to win games. Incredible from the young man.Dawson did. And I don't think that's biased.

Further to above to compareSleevo 24
The rest of them 25
Tucker 26
Currently only have 5 players 26 and older on our list (tucker, McDonald, corr, greenwood and shiels) arguably only corr and lmac will be in our best 22
