Which teams are most reliant on their top players?

I think you'll find that most sides that have decent seasons, their core of 4-6 absolute A graders tend to play in the majority of their games.

The one exception to that is wce, who did incredibly well to be missing Gaff and Natanui as well as Darling and kennedy for extended periods during the season.

I'd say we were one of the least reliant on our top players in '15 and '16. We constantly had a spread of players in our best. It was almost impossible to pick who would be the standout player when you had guys like Clay Smith stepping up one week for a prelim into Tom Boyd/JJ the next in a granny. A guy like Picken winning player of the finals, whilst Stringer basically went missing and Bont was somewhat quiet. Was a great time to be a Dogs supporter as you knew any guy picked in the best 22 had a role to play and you never knew who was going to step up and give you a BOG performance.
