Which young gun will shine in 2013?

Yeah I reckon crozier. My bro had glandular fever at the same age as croz. My brother was far from an athlete, and he got over it within a coupla months.
He showed a real hunger ( no pun to his frame ) to the footy last yr. I reckon a good 3-5 kgs on his playing weight from this yr will do him wonders.
I'm guessing 15 games for croz next yr avg. 18 disposals and 1-2 goals/ game.
Runner up to croz will be mello. I reckon RTB loves him

If he were 5kg heavier, he'd still be the second lightest kid on our list. Crozier needs to put on 10-15kg which will take time. Although severe skinnyness didn't seem to bother Nat Fyfe in his second year.

Yeah, but Fyfe seems to dance where angels fear to tread. If Crozier can utilise all 11 dimensions of space-time like Fyfe can, I'm going to need to buy new underwear.

And it didn't stop Crozier from getting a game in his first season either. He should be a better option this season after his second pre-season. We need to be more dangerous in attack, and he will be one of the options to try and engineer that.

I didn't say either Pearce has stagnated, simply that there will be competition for their spots, if they are not careful they may find themselves in the wafl. Good position for the club to be in, I'm not sure we have ever had genuine midfield depth

Sheridan is Simon black/ Scott pendelbury mkii from what I'm told... He will not stagnate guys like mzungu Pearce, Pearce and Deboer will lose their spot to him

The heck is this then?! You could have fooled me. o_O

Your right, contradictory, I think there will be heavy competition for those fringe midfield spots, Sheridan, neale, sutcliffe, crozier maybe even mitchie if he gets fit should push the two pearce's for their spot.... If that happens, I lt would be stagnating. Still a good problem to have

Little misprint. Fixed it for you KPR so no need to worry.

I'm hoping that Sheridan and Crozier can string some very consistent games together. If not, then Lachie Neale is like another little Ballantyne (which is also handy). And I have a soft spot for Mellington. He started this year fairly well before his hamstring.
Also, I hope Schloithe is our best rookie this year. Used to live in the same town as him, and it would be great to see him take on his chance for an AFL career.

Apart from the probable return of Morra I really liked what I saw of the few Sub games Subcliffe had. I thought he ran really well through the lines and think as he matures he will be a handy player for Freo.

Thanks for the info Dermo I like the sound of Crozier bulking up.

Bumped into Crozier at the gym today, geez the kid looks bigger! Reckons he's up to 78kg's now, correct me if I'm wrong but that's up like 10kg since he rocked up isn't it? Hopefully he can be a regular next year, will be good for Freo to have another player with some x-factor!

Seriously, thank you for that. Appreciate the good news. That's a good amount of weight gain so far.

Wow, you really don't rate Clarke and your making a big point of it recently.

Do you not see the potential he has and the important role he is playing for our ruck stocks post 211?
Potential is a faraway word for some players Seppo. I just don't see it in him. I cop plenty of flak for it too. I clearly see Griff as the far better option for now. For the future, I've noticed that many of the top clubs don't even bother nurturing a ruckman anymore. One retires, so they just go get the best available from another club! Just opinion isn't it?
I really don't understand others who knock Clancee or Tendai either. Those opinions will make me at least take a closer look next time though.

Hopefully it's clarke.

But Mellington had a knack for finding the footy early this season and didn't use it poorly. Coming back from his injury he's looking likely

I am not sure he will ever be a gun forward, I think he is a ruckmen who can go forward not the other way around.

He is only 22 and in 2-3 years (post sandilands) when he will be ready.

Sydney have not drafted a ruckmen for a number of years, and it shows the advantage of keeping another two spots on your list available for mids and picking up mature age recruits when they come available and there always appears to be a ruckman or two available.2-3 clubs in the comp will have 2 good ruckmen and they can only really play one.

The buldogs and Carlton have drafted 3-4 ruckmen and only one can play. This means Carlton is trying to play Kruezer, Spudnock, Hampson in the same team and traded away Jacobs, while the buildogs have Corby, Roughhead, Minson + one more i think and they are trying to play Corby, Roughhead as forwards when they arent.

In Summary, Clarke will be a gun ruckman who can forward.

You should only have a maximum of three ruckman on your list and shouldn't use a first or second round on one unless Natanui\Grundy is available as some of the best ruckmen have come in the rookie draft and you can always trade for a ruckmen. Even when Kruezur was available, Carlton should have taken Cotchin in hindsight

How ever you need at least 3+ KPF and 3+KPD on your list as they are hard to trade for.

We have McPharlin\Dawson and some people who probably won't make it.I am sure the club shopped Silvagni around like Dawson and I believe Ross has decided he won't make it as an AFL player.

Our key forwards are Pavlich and some people who probably won't make it (Clarke is a ruck who can play forward).

I think we could easily use all three draft picks on Key Position players.

Crozier and Viv Michie. I reckon we've done okay with our drafting, with the 2011 kids doing pretty well. I mean, Lachie Neale seems like he could run all day, and we still haven't really seen Chesty Bond have a real game (coming on as a sub against Melbourne, in round 23, is a far cry from playing a whole game mid-season). We're looking okay.

Pitt is useless, though. Dude's more interested in other things than footy, which is fair enough, but he's just wasting everyone's time.

what other things? there was mention he might have mild OP. I thought he started the year really well, showed great desperation and put his head over the ball, then seemed to go off the boil fairly quickly, so the rumour might hold true.

Pitt may never be the player Freo want him to be but I doubt anyone could take a shot at his dedication to improving his game. His attitude I'm sure is good and mild OP would definatly hamper his game.
