Would be rather annoying if we traded up from 14 having previously held pick 11 and given it away easily enough on the final day of trade week in the Bolton trade.Few interesting comments from Cal on Gettable.
-Lindsay, Berry, Murphy Reid and Hotton we've shown interest in all of them and are the most likely at our pick
-Bo Allan could go as high as 6. If he slides Freo could try trade up for him
-Freo have tried bundling 14+30 to move up
-Clubs have offered a F1 for our 14
-Considered a chance to bid on Sam Marshall at 14 put perhaps a bit early, if not the Sydney picks will
Surely we would grab Reid if he is available at 17?Few interesting comments from Cal on Gettable.

You'd half hope Reid doesn't slide all the way to 14 where he'd be hard to overlook. Seems like a risky player with a high ceiling but a very low floor. Modern draft history is littered with undersize (by current standards) / slow inside mids, who can't play another position, busts. Equally you might get Zak Butters.
If Walls take Reid, we would trust him...Sounds like Caleb serong

It's an interesting one, there's some risk for sure. But I'd argue he can play half forward and apparently thats where clubs see him due to his size and lack of speed. You'd half hope Reid doesn't slide all the way to 14 where he'd be hard to overlook. Oh I meant half hope literally. If we take him I'm perfectly happy. Our current team led by Walls have a pretty good track record in this exact scenario. It's an interesting one, there's some risk for sure. Watching him this year he reminded me a bit of Sheezel with how smart and creativite he is forward of centre. Sheezel is a bit bigger (185cm vs 181cm). Sheezel didn't test at the combine, but he ran a 3.14s 20m at the start of his underrage year in 2022 apparently at the NAB league testing. Reid also didn't do the combine this year but apparently he "nearly pipped the 3 second mark for the preseason 20m sprint" which is good.
The Age also wrote a few weeks back "Non-Victorian clubs are wary he might want to remain in Melbourne". Although thats the only time I've seen it, and seeing Port and Freo both have interest you wonder how accurate it is
Edit: I've just seen ESPN compare him to Gryan Miers and I don't mind the comparison. That's probably his role at AFL level at least initially anyway
At least he hasn't linked him to Port. Just GWS who we have covered plus Richmond & WC.Berry has moved up... BOOO!

Is Butters slow?
Never looks slow
Maybe not an ideal example overall, but ticks the box height and size and draft range wise. Maybe I should have said Serong! Is Butters slow?

Twomey also mentioned Harrison Oliver a good chance from GWS pick 15 as they have multiple picks and Richmond with pick 20. I thought we may slide on draft night. But no certainty to get him. His disposal numbers are very low. Is it a concern for the he plays?

Why tf would GWS need another small forward?Twomey also mentioned Harrison Oliver a good chance from GWS pick 15 as they have multiple picks and Richmond with pick 20. Yes me too now hope we get him as Hotton a question mark , Reid we may not have position for him and Berry and Lindsay may not get to us. Oliver can play wing as well right? At 16.3 in the national champs for a defender (who seems to still do actual defending), I am not sure they are "very low". Could do with a bit more accumulation and 4 quarter consistency according to rookieme, but I don't think it is a huge concern.
I think he will go higher than many are predicting. Rated the best kick and toughest (pound for pound) in the draft pool by some. Clubs would love that combination. I still think he is a big chance for our first pick if Berry and Lindsay are gone.
Other clubs do this so probably. No idea why he would be in our NGA program.
Maybe you can add father sons to the program, to help them develop. --Guessing
Taylor - Any ideas?

If Murphy Reid’s available at our pick we’d be mad not to take him/ (that or wallsy got the love eyes emoji locked for another player)
Yes he’s not the biggest player and not super quick but narratives take on a life of their own when a certain players weakness get repeated enough.
I mean ffs he’s still 6ft and runs 20m sprint around the 3 sec mark.
Now I’ll tell you what he does have and that’s natural football ability and nous coupled with an innate ability to give himself more time where most others panick , you know the Pendlebury/Mundy ability that you either have it or don’t .
They’re actually the type of players , the one touch creative types that tend to rise above once the pressure rises rather than wilt like so many others.
And considering the way our team finished the year off when the pressure ramped up I’d suggest we need more of his type not less.
Cmon VA how could you possibly come to this conclusion?
He’s a creative half forward /mid not too dissimilar to berry , he’s exactly the type of player we’re looking for
