Yep he gets a shocking good run from the unpires. No question.
Now he does take a dive. I won't or can't argue with that but he doesn't get as much out of it as people asume he does.

Same way Cristiano Ronaldo doesn't and won't win penalties even when they're due, they get a reputation then umpires wrongly award and refuse decisions and it irritates fans even further.

If Ronaldo stopped diving all together he would still get refused penalties every now and then because of his reputation.

Lloyd is the worst by a country mile! Anyone who needs to dive to win the ball is a cheat and shouldn't even be playing the game at any level. I used to enjoy watching and playing soccer as a youngster but my god how that game has changed. I can't even bring myself to watch it anymore. I hope footy doesnt go the same way, umpires should be penalising stagers with 50m penalties to rid the game of it. Nothing infuriates me more than seeing an actor on the field AND winning the ball by cheating.

Franklin is definitely one of the worst. Gets soft free kicks and always stages. Lloyd at times is pretty bad, but Franklin for all his talent stages for numerous free kicks which arent there.

Could not give a sh11tt re renaldo....I try to watch it then get annoyed the way its just turned over the strikers don't put any defensive pressure on and they dive akin to being shot then rithe about as if they are about to leave the planet.....no wonder the crowd sing and play games as not much happens

I didn't compare AFL to soccer, I compared how their diving reputations have hurt themselves in regard to free's that are there, try again

If you didnt know Monfries actually played most of his footy as an on-baller before he was drafted but has been played as a forward pocket throughout his AFL career (probably because Sheedy wanted to develop his body first). He's still young and will be playing most of his career in the middle. So in a few years time you will realise that Monfries aint a dud, as he is a genuine on-baller.

Never said they never win a free-kick, he has certainly made it harder for himself, he'll get an odd blatant one, anything closer and his reputation comes into play with most umprires.

What would you call it?

As has been said a million times he dives forward when he goes for a mark whether and it has nothing to do with playing for a free kick. He goes to ground too easy at times (that is not diving IMO - he's under no obligation to hold his ground if he's getting pushed in the back) and looks at the umpire which can be annoying when you think he should be making a second effort but you could count on one hand the amount of times he's dived just to get a free kick when there has been no contact and I challenge anyone to show me more than a handful of cases on video.

Brad Johnson is a lot worse than Lloyd as far as forwards go and so are a LOT of midfielders, including Monfries from my club.
