Not sure who was a surprise - but there was a heap of good kids not taken so really looking fwd to the psd/ rookie draft. Said all along i think we will find in a few years time a high number of rookies end up making it.

Players like Prismall, Crose, Sheringham, Bird, Weeks, Jacobs, Eddy, Hurley, Dzufer, Adams, Harbrow, ODwyer, George, Crate, Turner, Vasilevski, Nugent, Collier, Miller, Kiel, D.D8ck etc

Have not checked their ages but pretty sure they are all good for rookie. Pies will get a good midfielder I suspect.

i dont know about the others, but these two are definately too young to be rookie listed, prismall and bird both are bottom age, i expect Prismall to be a 1st rounder next year.

Kevin Sheehan said on a radio station yesterday he expected Kiel to go close to #1 in the rookie draft, said he was very unlucky not to go.


You can add batsanis to that list, im fairly positive he will get picked up, his skills cant be overlooked, and the second half of the TAC cup season, he was one of the best midfielders in the state.

If Kiel doesn't get picked up in the PSD I would expect him to be a Qld regional rookie selection to the Lions prior to the rookie draft and so he would not be available in the main rookie draft.

yeah i agree. it is kind of annoying and sad, when you see blokes like these 2, who obviously have bucketloads of talent, but dont make it because of their height. Horne winning b and f, and caruso the best in comp, they have obviously proven themselves at u/18 level. I will be disapointed, but not surprised if they dont get rookied.

Two SA boys who weren't expected to get picked up will go highly next year IMO. Watch for Tom Holmes and Henry White to play some good footy for SA at the carnival next year.

What makes you say that weaver? He only went to state screening, and it didn't seem that there was much enthusiasm around from the clubs over him.

Surely the ones who went to Draft Camp and missed out would be bigger shocks.

I was really surprised by someone not taking a punt on Bird.

Too young to rookie but he is eligible to get one of those NSW scholarships. I would reckon 16 clubs are going to be calling night and day to sign him up for one of those. Cost your club about $15K for the year but if you want to list him at the end of the year it doesn't cost you a pick. Good opportunity for him to get where he wants to go. Anyone got any info on the team that he supports?

Craig Bird is a Port Adelaide supporter. From memory his dad played in the SANFL.
