What? In previous threads we have been told that calling an indigenous player a monkey is not racist and now here we have it...saying racist things does not make you a racist.

It doesn't , it makes you an idiot non funny poor insulter

But racist it does not make you

wow can't believe i missed that.

so the no credibility this bitch had in the first place has gone out the window.

lets not forget it apparently it's not sexist for her to ogle a footballers with no shirts on.

if you're gonna get all preachy on the world make sure you're own backyard is in order first.

We all know where it comes from, as a generalisation boys are better than girls at sport. That is indisputable. Just like generally Women are better multi-taskers than men.

And I think that nothing goes through the little girls head because well I bet she hears it every single day, as well as hearing the stereotype that boys are mean everyday, which is built off the fact that boys at a young age are more disruptive and less empathetic as children, which is just fact.

These aren't problems, they are jokes that are imprinted into our culture because of our biology and aren't going anywhere. For something to be an issue it has to cause a problem, and other than giving radical feminist ammo this is causing no problems.

And if that little girl hears that EVERY SINGLE DAY, she probably starts to BELIEVE it - There are plenty of women who are better footballers than men.. Some dudes HATE football.. some women LOVE it..

But your baseless stereotype, which you think is 'just a joke' is all well and good because they are just biology?

You're a joke and a half, mate -

the article was shrill but this thread takes the cake...

this thread is full of **** sticks...
nah, when someone writes a piece on sexism but at the same time posts pictures of semi naked footballers as being a "perk of the job" and "The problem isn’t the objectification but the fact that objectification of women upholds a sexist view in society that women are actually nothing more than sex objects, which isn’t something we do for men.

I liked this quote when looking for a simple rebuttle for the people who accuse me of hypocrisy because I’ve posted photos of AFL players without shirts on."

and when someone writes a piece on racism and makes continual references to "white men" and also proffers "racism against white people isn't actually a thing"

they've shown to be nothing more than being a hypocritical preacher.

she has taken some very serious issues and done nothing to advance their cause. in fact it only regresses them.

"My one and only football game attendance was to Victoria Park in the late 60s and I was so disgusted by the supporters I never saw another. Nothing has changed. Where there is no will there is no way."

:D:rolleyes:

I'm often told that going to Etihad is the same as Victoria Park in the 60's. Nothing's changed. It's sad.

The article goes over the top, for sure - making out that the ethnicity of the five panellists who gave their predictions pre-game is somehow relevant to anything is a failure to consider their selection on any ground save for race and gender. The point being, people like Carey, Harley and Matthews aren't picked for being white, and are only "picked for being male" in the sense that the AFL itself is made up of male players. It is worth noting, though, that the article does draw attention to racist comments from the crowd - calling Goodes a "black dog", for instance - and that, with more context, there is definitely a point to be made when it comes to a general institutionalised sexism ("playing like girls", &c.). So there are some valid points in there, made harder to spot by what certainly does look like over-sensitivity.

Some of the comments in this thread only serve to show up precisely the real problems she does manage to identify, especially in relation to sexism. Disagree with her all you like, but that she herself is seen as worthy of discriminatory comment is an indictment on the way some on here approach matters like this.

I'm not arguing about the merits of the article. I'm talking about the vitriolic response from the bigfooty board -

I think she is a bit silly for engaging in 'tit for tat' tweets as they won't help anyone, and i think twitter is a narcissist's playground... but the responses here are disgusting regardless

She is an absolute hypocritical bigoted women. She somehow thinks that it not ok to boo goodes because it is Racist, states sexist perceptions like pictures of semin nude footballers are a perk of the job and above all racisim to wards white people doesn't exist according to her. She seriously wonders why this backlash is existing when she is a bigoted hypocrite.

Some deliberately go out of their way to respond to her in the way in which she complains about purely and simply to stick it up her.

I was sitting with Erin at the game. If anything, she's understated the experience.

I got to page two of this thread. It's pretty much exactly as I expected, and is probably the last Bigfooty thread I shall ever read.
Do you want to post proof or until then shutup. By the way tell her next time you speak to her she is a bigoted hypocrite for me.

If she is offended by "Sydney takes it up the arse, do dah, do dah" then I'm afraid there is no hope for her. I would love to see her stand with the Richmond Grog Squad for a game. I doubt she'd last 10 minutes.

Yeah look the article is ridiculous hyperbole but she's right that racism against white people doesn't exist.

If you're a white person and you feel that you've been the victim of racism in your life, you are either a complete ******* who doesn't understand what racism is at all, or you're a racist using "racism against whites" to justify your racism toward other people.
Only an idiot would deny that coloured people and immigrants experience more racism than white people.

But to say racism against white people doesn't exist is simply incorrect.

Her article is completely bigoted with racist connotations against Caucasian people and stereotyping the whole of the Hawthorn Football Cub fans as racist, sexist and homophobic.

She sexually objectifies men and claims that racism doesn't exist against white people to boot.

She uses a national publication to show off how intellectually superior she is to the bogan rabble that allegedly is people who like the game of Aussie Rules.

This whole "article" is just a spectacular failure.
