It's easy to compile a fantasy list of those you hope you might jag (mine includes Vickery, Tom Swift and Ash Smith) but who are you dead set AGAINST coming to your club?

Personally I'll be a little deflated if we pick Yarran - not necessarily because he's ordinary or anything but because I don't think he fills a huge need.

Also not yet sold on McKernan.

I could understand North fans, for example, being a tad confused if they went KPF with their first pick...

Hurley, slow, i know he is dual AA but i want speedy mid who can kick goals, slow big lumbering defenders are a thing of the past, also don't want Yarran, hurley i think should fall Carton's way, id even prefer Trengrove, despite he hamstring injury

Johnstone - Don't need another Tall Forward

Rich - If he was somehow there at pick 17 then by all means yes, but not with the no.1 pick. We need a KP forward or a ruckman far more than another midfielder

Mitch Robinson would be the biggest disappointment for me. I'm just not completely convinced when a 19 year old dominates against 17 and 18 year olds. He doesn't really suit Geelong's needs either.

I'm not unhappy taking anyone in particular, it's more about where you take them. Like IBFF said, I think we can do better than Ballantyne with 21 and 24. He wasn't invited to draft camp so there can't be that much interest. Medhurst fell to 56 and he was a more accomplished player

I'm not a DeBeor fan either. Late pick would be OK

I'm happy to back in the MFC recruiters. If forced to pick a player I'd like my team to steer clear of, it'd be Cornelius at either 17 or 19.

agreed i think there will be better talent around at 15 than him, but as someone else said its all about when you pick them rather than who you pick.

e.g i dont want to get him with 15 because i think we could get better but if we could snare him with 33 or 39 then i wouldnt be too dissapointed.

with such a "talented" draft pool that everyone keeps talking about once you get past the top 5 or 10 then there are a bunch of people that could go anywhere from late first round into early to mid third round. and if you get one of these kids at 30 or 40 then its a big difference from getting him at 15. and with geelong not having an early pick then i cant see any chance of us getting rich, watts, nicnat, hurley, ziebell, hartlett, vickery or a few others so its not as big a deal with us because all the so called "super talented" kids are gone and we get a look at the rest.

for example i see in a very large percentage of phantom drafts that geelong get cornelius, more so than any other club... now i dont love him or hate him but some people have him going to us at 15 where some have him going at 33, and ive notice that in the bf mock draft he hasnt been picked up and their into the fiftys..... so pretty much if someone offered me cornelius for pick 15 then i might have to consider other options but for pick 49 i'd be all over him like a rash.

A ruckman, key position forward or Sam Blease with pick 9.

Yeah I'm not sold on Blease.

I know we don't want a ruckman / KPF, but if we got McKernan I wouldn't be that annoyed. I rate him pretty highly and I think if he didn't have the Corey connection, he'd be in everyones top 10.

A good result will swing a Sidebottom/Swift/Ziebell/Hartlett player our way.

I wouldn't mind if we took a project ruckman / key forward with our 4th or 5th rounder tbh.
