Tough to split Gunston, Hale, Lake, Mitchell & Burgoyne, each of them stepped up and made a dramatic difference.

Would probably have to go with Gunston based on his scoreboard impact and work up the ground.

In our 3 finals Gunston scored 11.4
As a whole our team scored 40.44
Take out Gunston's scoring and we went 29.40, that's 42% compared to Gunston's 73%

Not bad for a 21 year old!

Gunner or Hale for mine. I even jumped on the band wagon and bought a Gunner badge at half time. Lake was massive too, I kept yelling out "this is why you came to the club Brian, for a premiership, now go and get it." Seeing him laying in the gold confetti after the game with his kids topped off my day.

For the record a mate of mine had 10 bucks on him for the Norm Smith at $126 to $1. Good on him.

My vote goes to Hale. Agree with Moginie, in that he was up against some great ruck men and performed brilliantly. Just edges out guns ton. Wow, how good is this guy? Also special mentions to Burgers and Mitch. Instrumental in getting us there, although slightly quieter on the day.

Still remember Hale playing for North Ballarat (or whatever team North was aligned with) against Box Hill in the season before we got him. He really stood up this year and his tackle in the middle of the ground against Geelong in the last qtr of the prelim is one of my favourite Sep moments. Gunston just as good imo.

Mine too. It was a three on one moment and Geelong were on there way. He was immense, people saying it was close, I think, are factoring in the grand final. Hale by a mile, well half mile, maybe 10 cm? Doesn't matter, both were great!
