Brian Wilson

I believe he took Charlie home a year or two before I properly followed VFL footy - people still expressed surprise/disbelief that he'd won it a few years after the fact; watched him play a bit with Melbourne, he was occasionally good but more often inconsistent and ineffectual.

Scott Wynd would have to be the least dynamic Brownlow winner I can recall; he was rock solid for a few years in the ruck, but not exactly an exciting or memorable player.

Jim Stynes still probably the biggest and most deserving favourite I can recall, he was absolutely dominant the year he won it.

Priddis is only a Brownlow medalist because it was Robbie grays first elite year in footy and umps were not paying attention to him.

2014 gray averaged 25 disposals, 42 goals, AFLCA player of the year. In a team that finished in a prelim.
Also because Fyfe got suspended
Fyfe would of finished on top but Gil didn’t like the look of that so got the umps to give priddis 2 votes for 27 possession game when 2 other players got more possessions at better efficiency and a goal
Another player had 25 and 1 better efficiency and another who had 20+d 4 goals.
Also gray had a magic finals series which doesn’t count he had a couple 25d 3/4 goal games.
Fyfe and Gray (and jnr before injury) were Clearly better than priddis in 2014

No one knows what impact TB-4 had if any, so Jobe should be excluded from these discussions.
We don’t, but what we do have is the ability to marry up his polling in 2012 with the 13 week period of the season with which he was being injected while never declaring a single injection to ASADA.

In the first 13 weeks of 2012 Jobe polled Brownlow votes in 12 games. To repeat. He polled votes in 12 out of 13 games during the period of the injection regime.
In the previous 13 games he polled 4 times. In the subsequent 13 games he polled 5 times.

During the injection regime he polled 26 votes in 13 games, an average of 2 votes per game.

Over the rest of his career he polled 87 votes in 187 games, an average of approx 0.45 votes per game.

Only Brownlow winner to be dropped during the year

Worth clarifying that he originally won it outright BECAUSE he got dropped, as they decided that in a tie the player who played less games won it. A rule the league literally just made up after the fact, as they were too dumb to consider that a tie could be possible.

Laughably stupid beginnings for what remains a laughably stupid award.

Thinly veiled Pendlebury has never won a Brownlow post.

I am guessing this silly reply has something to do with some 'player from my team is better than your team' sh*fight you have enaged in with fellow halfwits on Bigfooty.

No, allowing umpires to vote on players when they should just be doing their job and exposing them to gambling corruption - leading one to even get arrested - is what makes the Brownlow a laughably stupid and ill-conceived award.
