I think you guys win this year, time is not up, though it’s running out. But at the end of the day if it’s a couple of mediocre performances rather then what we both expect as supporter groups then whoopdy do, who cares. Last season was exciting as both of us went deep, this season looks to be an anomaly and you guys look to get one on us.

Both sides need to turn the form around quickly, as my mob need to most likely win 4-5 of last 6 just to make 8, where as your mob similiar to make top 4.

If Blues don’t turn around form then I fear it’s a wasted season, my boys have been shite for most of it but at least this group will always be known as a premiership group. You can spin anything you like but the name of the game is not individual accolades, it is Premierships, that’s the beauty about sports is that someone say like Billy Frampton is not rated externally by anyone except those at Collingwood, he will forever be able to show his kids and his grandkids his premiership medallion. Nathan Buckley would trade all his individual accolades for 1 premiership medal I believe.

As Cripps is getting older, I feel Carlton need to snag a flag with him as he is such an inspirational leader for you guys whom others follow, but he is running out of time in his career if you guys fall away this season.

To steal a quote from one of your posters here.

Our flag window is within the next five years imo. The drought breaking first one will be the most difficult obviously!

Spot on as usual, beerbandit

For a team so reliant on their top 5 to 6 players, they've had a great run availability wise with them and there is only the one stand-out team this season. This could have been their opportunity - you've got to make hay while the sun shines.

Pretty sad that you rest your laurels on 1 flag and all is good in the world. If it was Carlton, I'd be personally disgusted going from 1 all the way down to 12th in the space of consecutive seasons. And you think if Carlton don't win it this year that's its a wasted season ? Lol. It's more of a wasted season for Collingwood considering 22 premiership players are still on that list

Yes I agree with 5 years but Cripps needs to be at his best as he does a lot of carrying the team.

If he somewhat falls away as he enters his 30s, then you may be in trouble, Walsh is a gun, but 6'5” centremen don't grow on trees

This and of course just the general evolution of the chasing pack, catching and going past.

Not resting our laurels at all.

Season not over yet for the Pies and I still have belief we can pull it together and cause some damage in September,

But the facts are we've no zero continuity in 2024 and have been struggling to gain momentum after having the shortest pre-season in the history of the game.

I have confidence that whatever happens this year, Collingwood will return a better version in 2025.

Meanwhile, this is as good a Carlton team as we've seen in over two decades, and it is apparent your ladder position is falsified due to the fact you've already played the bottom 2 teams 3 times (when some others, including Collingwood, have only played them once) and dissentgate against Freo in Gather Round.

I 'fear' Carlton will peak as a team who fluke a couple if top 4 finishes without legitimately contending.

LOLs to you Worm.

It’s not a 12 team VFL comp anymore, premierships are significantly harder to win then they ever have been.

We aren’t resting on our laurels, Collingwood always bounce back and I’m sure we will next season, given a bit more luck to a few players.

I’m the first to admit we’ve been poor, but 2 weeks ago you guys looked the team to beat, now you do not, so yes it is a waste Worm, spin it how you like, Collingwood have never been the team to beat this year other then Rd 0 when we played GWS.

It’s quite a silly comment from you mate as I’m quite sure you may be content of past premierships that you’ve seen a lifetime ago, but many younger die hard Blues would do anything to see them win and this year will spiral away before you can blink if not careful.

3 weeks ago, Geelong were spiralling out of the 8, all of a sudden they're back up there threatening. Write us off all you like on back of 2 insipid performances, but it's not all doom and gloom. Last night we won every major stat apart from 1, and couldn't get it done. 3 goals 7 behinds from your full forward doesn't exactly help. Carlton will be fine .

Carlton are the better team this year with superstars in Curnow, criipps, weitering, to name a few. But Collingwood won a flag and Carlton have been underachieving under Voss. The pressure's on. The clock is ticking. I don't think they will flag it this year and then the pressure will be magnified again. The seasons of 2022 and 2023 has created a lot of good will amongst Collingwood supporters. We didn't win the flag in 2022, and yet Jamie Elliott will have a statue built outside Lexus. And in 2023 he became a premiership player with the rest of his team mates.

Pies and Carlton just two of the 17 teams playing for second place - or in the words of Carlton supporters - participating.

The fact the Pies have a flag in the back pocket from 2023 softens that realisation, but it must be hard to take for Carlton supporters who have been building and rebuilding for 30 years...
Pies keep heading south on the ladder old mate, there's 8 teams between Pies and 2nd spot, your chances are zero.

Lol you couldn't script this shit, Carlton loses twice in a week and both times it sent the Pies further down the ladder and we're still 2nd :)
Sometimes when you lose, you actually win
The concerning thing is, you guys probably actually believe this.

When Collingwood have historically been positioning themselves to contend, there's only one team for whom we were concerned about ladder position - Collingwood.

I guess that's the difference between the powerhouse clubs, and the clubs that know they are only ever there to make up the numbers...

Odd considering when Pies were ahead on the ladder it was all that was spoken about. "Do as I say not as I do" vibes

What we only think this because you think we think it?

When you are wallowing in the dark depths of the ladder , there's no making up numbers. That's only reserved for those who are actually amongst the September action. You should know this already.
