Exactly! They were given a soft draw by the AFL to try and springboard them into a Top 4 position and a GF purely for financial gain. Unfortunately the AFL forgot one thing...........Carlton are shit.

Go the Mighty "2024 Reigning Premier" Pies!
Nah the AFL handed you a soft flag on a plate last year. The umpiring in the GWS game cough cough.

We deserved one after years of dubious decisions in close finals

Although it would be more believable it was gifted to us if the Lions didn’t get an armchair ride all day

People expected us to be good this year.

The toughest draw of anyone so far.

Decimated with injuries.

Refer ladder for a summary of how its going.

This was some analysis done where they looked at matchups so far and opposition team ladder position in the Round the game was played. Carlton 1st for lowest average opponent ladder position by quite a bit.

Between Round 2 and Round 13 Carlton have played 7 teams that were sitting in the top 4 at the start of the Round the game was played in. Think GCS is second with 4.

NOTE: OR and Round 1 are excluded for all teams because this is based off ladder positions at the start of the Round. At the start of OR there was no 2024 ladder and at the start of Round 1 only 8 teams had played whilst the other 10 would have just been ranked in alphabetical order.

"The toughest draw".

"Decimated with injuries"

That was posted by me almost two months ago. Around the mid-way point of this year Carlton imo clearly had the toughest draw but everyone knew our draw was going to get softer and so by the end of 2024 that won't be the case.

And we were at one point decimated by injuries that does not mean we have had the worst injury list in the AFL across 2024. That would likely be Richmond without doing much analysis.

"Nobody has said these things" was the call.

Thank you for now confirming both things have been leaned on at various points. That was actually big of you and I wasn't expecting it.

You're not one of them, but many other posters have referred to the extremities of Carlton's rolling injury list. Then quoted "games missed" to show that Carlton had suffered the worst of it. But then deny they ever said such things. Again, not you. A few others.

Depends how it's delivered. Injuries aren't an excuse, but it is a factor

Health of list/continuity is the number 1 factor in team sport, but referencing interchangeable players is a reach

I knew you'd have sand in your undies after last night, but can't be bothered with dealing with another of your tantrums.
You should no that if you say that someone did or said something you would have some back up, so it's my tantrums v your bulldust.

Yes decimated by injuries does not equal "worst injury list across 2024".

Hardest draw two months ago also does not equal "hardest draw across 2024".

How did you miss all the Pies supporters doing the same thing.

The issue is people are very shallow in how they convey that message, as an informed opinion would require a detailed analysis of every single club's week by week injury list (which goes beyond how many games missed, but rather which combination of players in any given week and their quality). We have a very, very vague idea of these things unless it's truly exceptional like Richmond this year or West Coast in some previous years.

You weren't decimated though.

This year for Carlton has not been one characterised by being decimated by important injuries. They have not been an outlier club. You seem to think for injuries and fixture difficulty that they have been.

Bad form has lead to bad results. Vice versa on their good runs. That's pretty much it. Accept it.
