Banter Carlton is better in 2024. Who will be better in 2025? Carlton or Collingwood? Part 3

Banter threads are not to be taken too seriously. Have fun. Let others have fun.

Dang, we've gone from 2024 is the Blues year to sometime this century will be our time. Love to see it.

To be able to come into a Carlton vs Collingwood thread and do all you can do to win points off the Collingwood contingent and the club you support is Brisbane, the team that lost to Collingwood in the GF, is incredibly kind of you.

Good for you, mate! :)

I can’t see Collingwood winning that game. West Coast will probably beat us, and St Kilda too.

Our injury list is so ****ed that I might play on Sunday.
Probable 6 changes with Cerra and De Koning still out.

Carlton and Gold Coast are the modern day StK, the two regular bottom dwellers who haven't seriously contended for a premiership, instead just collected spoons and green shoots.
It's really only Carlton that are the modern day StKilda.
Gold Coast should be excused being a start up club.
Carlton as a club are in terminal decline... Kids don't want to support them. Kids don't like loser clubs and are drawn to the successful ones.
Tassie and the NT are going to enter the comp.
Long term Carlton would be well advised to see if the Saints would consider a merger. Doubt they'd want to but worth asking the question if you're Carlton.

The problem is it is hard to say much about Collingwood given how successful they consistently are, whereas the Blues sit on the other end of the spectrum in constant embarrassment.

That’s fair. Yes, we haven’t been successful and generally been shit most of this century.

Saying that feels liberating.

Surely not mate - all non-Carlton/Collingwood supporters must be 100% neutral!

Is this about Lachie Neale losing the Brownlow to Patrick Cripps?

Take the L, dude.

See this is the problem with Carlton personified by their fans. They only care and think about the individual, the individual awards! No team, no heart. Its 23 individuals out there every week embarrassing themselves trying to get votes for individual awards, rather than one collective group striving for success. And year after year we get the same results. Sad to see.

I’m not sure, if a club has had any of

  • 2 of 3 starting mids out for most the season
  • FF & CHF out for most of season
  • Best forward out for 1/2 season
  • Best pressure forward out for 1/3 season
  • Best defending backman out forever

Would this effect them?

Of course it does - good to see you have now admitted that injuries can have a significant impact on a team and their performances in a season.

Yet we sit higher on the ladder than Collingwood at this very moment, doesn't matter if Pies have been more successful recently or not.

That's why you're below Carlton, you're even shitier.

Oh look where the Pies are, if the Blues are so bad Pis are dead

To think, just 6 weeks ago Carlton was in 2nd place on the ladder and 6 points clear of third.😂
Then they channelled their inner Carlton.

From second favourite for the flag to a steaming pile of poo outside the 8..in just 6 weeks😂.
Bloosers are the only team that can pull off a train wreck that bad!

We're not alone bud.

Ok, we are in agreement, injuries matter.
You've forgotten early in the season when Fadge got behind his Geelong buddy and tried to tell us injuries are no excuse.

Didn't you go from 4th to 13th in 5 weeks (RD15-RD19) this season? It's almost like the parity in 2024 means a few losses and you can drop down very quickly

Very true, you sit 9th and the pies sit 11th, if I were a Blues fan I'd cherish the small wins as well
