My money has to be on Reimers, he is classy and confident, a slim chance maybe goes to Lonergan Dempsey or Houli but i cant see it happening for a long time!

Reimers probably wont be able to not be suspened at least once a year.

Stanton
(Still)
Gets a lot of it, carries the ball, has shown he can use it particularly well. Split the weagles open 2 or 3 times last week, if he does that 3 or 4 times a game, every game, he'll be a chance as he also accumulates lots of other possessions

Hasn't put together many consistent seasons though & has struggled being #1 midfielder, is showing us what he's got now. More balanced, rounded player these days too

McVeigh, Nash, Reimers don't play enough in the midfield

Bachar Houli will win one :)

Yeah i believe Houli if he continues to improve could win a Brownlow

Courtney Dempsey or Lonergan are my wildcards.
Spike may be a bit too old, but you never know.

Lonergan is an interesting choice for the future...

McVeigh, he'll win it next year

McVeigh should win something...Great Player.

The Coleman medal was mentioned. Lloyd for the next few years will probably be our biggest goal kicker.

But my question is does Gumby have it in him to ever kick close to 100 goals in a season?

if paddy ryder plays through the middle more he is a wild card.
and how could umpires mis reimers? bright orange boots and all!
Bachar Houli anyone?

i think he is more of a mobile forward, as opposed to a out-of-the-goalsquare sort of player, so probably wont get to the ton. lets just get him on the park first! fingers crossed for the boy

i thought of this thread the other day, how many people here have said Nash being the next brownlow for us. pretty funny

looking at how things are goin now and who we've recruited, new thoughts? Winderlich? Zaharakis?

although i still really can't see any stand out potential superstars though.
potential really good players but not supestars

one step at a time i suppose

maybe winderlich? prismall? or watson? but against blokes like ablett, judd and the like, they are still a fair way off

You'd have to think Watson was our best chance now?
Have $10 on him each-way at $151.

He's been in our best in nearly every win, and then some of the losses.

Could win, though it depends on whether the umpires actually notice him or not.
That and how many St Kilda players steal votes from each other.

Names like Nash, Hislop, Jetta and Laycock being thrown round. lol

Watson is the only short term with Winderlich a smokey if he can stay fit for a whole season. Who knows how our youngens will develop, I'll say Gumby purely because it would mean he got himself up and playing. :p

Definatly Watson. Still fairly young (24 i think) so has his peak years when essendon should (hopefully) be winning alot more games.
People like Pears, Hurley, Gumbelton, Ryder (to a lesser extent) wont get it because it always goes to the midfeilder

I think Prismall has the best chance out of midfielders we have at the moment. He has a unbelievable kick (probably the best in the team) he kicks goals and he gets alot of the ball. Put all these together and the fact that he will get a full pre-season under his belt, just watch him fly.

Having said that watson, stanton and winderlich are also chances depending on how their future development goes.:thumbsu:

Nash? We actually considered Nash as a Brownlow medalist last year?
I'm not sure if I can trust predictions from this board anymore.

He looked like he had so much up-side.... maybe he just doesn't work hard enough?

I dunno what happened, but in two years he gone from looking like a potential gun to being delisted. Would possibly be a good pick-up for another team, maybe a SA team.

If Brent Stanton ever wins a brownlow medal then our great game is up shit creek!

We don't have any experienced senior players capable of winning a brownlow. Therefore I'd pin our hopes on Myers or someone who is yet to be at the club........

I stick by these comments.

Watson is a very outside chance this season, however.

Well I joined after those comments so I guess I missed all the talk about how good he could be. It does make me wonder though, when people are talking about new young players potentially being great, which ones are going to end up like Nash?
