Well, enjoy reminiscing the good old days where mullets ruled. We'll enjoy the present and future of owning the Essendon FC ;)

Now now, two wins on the trot isn't an "owning" :p

There is absolutely no doubting that the Saints are better than Essendon right now. They're better than everyone. That said though, we're not halfway through the season yet and finals are not till September. At present the Saints are 3 wins better than 5 clubs in the competition who are all tied.

September awaits. The Saints will be there, no doubt of that, and will do well. Let's see how it all goes. Rd17 should be a good game.

And yet they only had 8 more scoring shots yesterday against a weaker oppoosition. Its all a question of accuracy, and the same forwards showed last year that they can be lethally accurate for Sydney.

Try 18 - not 8.

i think the saints would be most vulnerable at york park.

at the moment, i dont think port can beat them, but if we got a few players back from injury & the weather was miserable that weekend - the ground heavy, who knows what could happen.

so, i would say that gabba & york park would be the 2 games that they would clearly be most concerned about.

We're not concerned about any games - we look forward to every new challenge.

We'll probably drop a few games in between now and September, but as long as we don't drop any in the Finals, we'll be happy.

I feel the other factor slightly in Port's favour is the fact the game is played the week after the bye weekend. If Port had to play the saints after a trip to Perth, I would have given them no chance.

The two week break will give Port some time to freshen up (hopefully no further injuires/suspensions) and get their full squad back (bar Primus and Francou).

There is a chance (small I think) the Saints might relax a little over this period (considering they may be 13-0), plus they are nearly as unfamilar with York Park as we are.

gee mike sheahan must feel like a di ck comparing the side that didnt give a yelp against sydney to the great essendon side of 2000. lmfao.

yeah they'll go past 20 wins.;)

At first i was quite sure we would lose, but eventually, i was quite confident that we would win. I just didnt think the Saints could play the SCG too well, and i was right.

Now, after seeing most of the comments in this thread, im sure most yous who posted wont be back here. Honestly, i reckon the Saints have a better forward line, but in a small ground, they arent much.
