Why are supporters of other sides so passionate about the Tigers?

Of the first 15 threads currently about 10 of them are about the Tigers.
It is very clear that the Tigers stir up more passion than any other team in the AFL.
Many supporters on these threads are clearly much more passionate about the Tigers than even their own team.

I guess if you want to experience real footy passion you engage with Tigers supporters.

It just goes to prove my theory that there are two types of AFL supporters. Those who support the Tigers, and those who wish they did.

Your collective bitter envy gives all Tiger supporters much delight.

From whence does such passion for the Tigers arise?

Grin, there are not too many clubs with a legion of passionate supporters like the Tiges. Our fans have ballz of steel to stand tall whilst those made of anything less would simply wilt under the pressure. We know there is light. A win is not far away, the results show that. And when we salute, god help the poor $@$@& that we knock off, coz we'll be celebrating like it's the end of the war.

Hang in their tiges, we're on the way, misery has No place around here:thumbsu:

at least collingwood has given thier supporters something over the last 25 years, not 3 final series since 1983 like a certain club

Yes we can agree that the Tigers have had a very ordinary 25 years.
But that begs the question even more.
Look at this board now. Almost all of the top 15 or 20 threads are about the Tigers, most started by supporters of other clubs.
Why does Richmond attract so much passion, not just from their own supporters but also from the supporters of the other 15 clubs?

People aren't passionate about the Tigers, it is just that they are easy targets and their supporters get riled up quite easily.

Its because you guys are so easy to take advantage off, lets be serious most of guys are simpleton tootlhess ferals with no pride in your appearance

You guys are the easy targets, its quite amusing watching you guys get so worked up

:)

Settle dipper.
Your passion for the Tigers overfloweth.
Perhaps some nice calm deep breathing.

But if you read those threads it is supporters of rival teams that are getting upset and hurling bad language and ill considdered insults whilst Richmond supporters are there for the ride and just stirring the pot.

We seem to be really under the skin of many of the supporters of other teams.

I think it is because they don't understand how, after 25 years in the wilderness, Richmond has such a large and the most passionate supporter base in the AFL, and they are bitterly envious

if it was collingwood in the same positon tell me richmond supporters would not be sticking the boots in left ,right and centre
You're point that no one cares when Collingwood wins a game is well made.
However it doesn't explain the level of passion of supporters of opposition clubs towards the Tigers.
