Reminder: This isn't the Israel/Hamas thread. Go to the Israel/Hamas thread if you want to talk about that. Thanks.

Thread rules update:
From this point if you're going to make a connection between Islam and the crime rate, you need to demonstrate causation in your post. If you do not, I'm going to infract you for the inherent racism in the position you're taking.

Jesus said: “Not every one that said to Me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven; but he that does the will of My Father which is in heaven. Many will say to Me in that day, Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in Your name? and in Your name have cast out devils? and in Your name done many wonderful works? And then will I profess to them, I never knew you: depart from Me, you that work iniquity” (Mat 7:21–23).

Matthew 18:6 The Passion Translation (TPT)But if anyone abuses one of these little ones who believes in me, it would be better for him to have a heavy boulder tied around his neck and be hurled into the deepest sea than to face the punishment he deserves!

Jesus cautioned several times that prior to His Second Coming, “many false prophets shall rise, and shall deceive many” (Matt. 24:11).

All because stupid so call Christians blessed an adult having sex with a minor, isn't Christian. Regardless what position they have or claim to be.
Researchers think Matthew was written 70 years after Jesus's death. Probably by someone who never heard Jesus say anything and we would probably judge the writer as a paedophile by today's standards, as you're trying doing with Muhammad...

You're going to have to tear up the bible. Pretty likely that each book of the new testament was written by a man or men who had done similar. And we take their word for what Jesus said - heresay generally written a hundred or so years after his death and his supposed word being Chinese whispers amongst a couple of generations of paedophiles.
Have you read the bible or study it?

Can you explain the early text has been carbon dated to late first and early first centuries? It came from the gospel of John which was the last gospel to written

I've read the bible and know about the collation of the new testament - which occured about 350 AD, way after Jesus's death, when a group of blokes decided that the approx 25 books that appear in the New testament were the ones to go with - ignoring others that didn't fit their views - views that most likely had changed a fair bit over time from the original preaching. These books were stories written by Christian communities that had branched off after christ was dead. Judging by what scholars analysis of when each of these books was written, "and Jesus said" generally isn't even as lofty as heresay, it's most likely gone through multiple people before being written by the author of the book - heresay about heresay. Oh and that's before you get into translation error. Jesus would have spoken in aramaic then it was written mainly in Greek then translated to Latin and now in australia we read it in English.

Even if you believe that Jesus was God's voice, the likelihood of the new testament being an accurate account of his teachings is ridiculously slim. And that's before you get into the inclusion of the old testament which is clearly very contradictory to the messages of the new testament and most likely just included to help with conversion - as it maintained Abrahamic beliefs - even though the early Christian community was clearly challenging and trying to overthrow those beliefs.

And these communities were products of their times. What we consider paedophilia now was a standard marriage - mature men with young girls. As iwas also the norm in early Islam.

Lol. Much of the law in medieval Europe was based on Canon Law, or the teachings of the Catholic Church. So you could just as easily argue the Christian God was condoning sex with minors.

You're all over the place, and you’ve arrived here because you’ve run with a bigoted trope but have no idea of history.
Its the same god for the Christians, Muslims and Jews.

Make of that what you will...

Surely god being omnipotent it would be able to use his or her mysterious ways to wrangle the exact correct meaning into each new translation and version of things tho.

That's why they all manage to say the same thing.

Screw this whole testing us shite. Just make us believe.

A practical god would just arrange to do a miracle every year in the same spot and give details to his chosen when and where it'd be and what'll happen. Say, "For everyone who turns up a Fed Square on January the 23rd, if they bring water to drink I will change it to strawberry milkshake that even the lactose intolerant can enjoy!"

Then, his priests can signal the coming miracle with the following soundtrack:

He did foretell the Collingwood 2023 Premiership at the MCG in my dreams. Perhaps I'm a prophet.

Just turn up on new years, and give us something more spectacualar than fireworks.
Would be a hit.

Call to marriage and engagement – Marriage took place at a young age for the ancient Jews. Most rabbis proposed 18 as the most appropriate age for men to be married, but it wasn’t uncommon for them to be younger, especially in times of peace. Young women were married almost as soon as they were physically ready, approximately age 13.

Average lifespan is thought to have been around 35 years.

So girls were probably "ready" when they hit puberty.

6yo pushing the envolope a bit even back then, but people probably didn't give a crap.

It was obviously still going on in the 1400's as evident by prince blackadder's marriage to 9 year old princess leia of hungary. His wedding night consisted of reading her bedtime stories.

How many other years did you dream it?
I know about 20 people had weird dreams of planes etc in the lead up to 9/11 (and one person who had visions of it a 18 months earlier during a psychotic breakdown) but that was a much rarer event than even the rare modern Pies flags (about once ever 20 years since 1958).

So maybe we should ask around next time the Saints one (if that ever happens.)

Theory being the more unlikely and shocking the event the more likely it will trigger something like that (people dreaming about it beforehand).

Your right about history of age of consent.

We now know that adult having sex with a minor is damaging to a child.

Muhammad was directed by Allah to marry and have sex with Isha.

Why would God damage a child?
Because god doesn’t care. Duh.

God gave man free will.
God also has no censor for what man claims god says or does. Therefore the only god that makes sense is one apathetic to the point of uncaring.

He did lay down a few guidelines for life

That's from the Torah. The old laws have been abrogated with the coming of the Messiah (Jesus):

But now Jesus has obtained a superior ministry, since the covenant that he mediates is also better and is enacted on better promises. For if that first covenant had been faultless, there would have been no occasion to look for a second. For he finds fault with them when he says: "Behold, the days are coming, declares the Lord, when I will establish a new covenant with the house of Israel and with the house of Judah, not like the covenant that I made with their fathers on the day when I took them by the hand to bring them out of the land of Egypt. For they did not continue in my covenant, and so I showed no concern for them, declares the Lord. For this is the covenant that I will make with the house of Israel after those days, declares the Lord: I will put my laws into their minds, and write them on their hearts, and I will be their God, and they shall be my people. And they shall not teach, each one his neighbor and each one his brother, saying, 'Know the Lord,' for they shall all know me, from the least of them to the greatest. For I will be merciful toward their iniquities, and I will remember their sins no more." In speaking of a new covenant, he makes the first one obsolete. And what is becoming obsolete and growing old is ready to vanish away.

So that passage
  • confirms god being uncaring until new covenant
  • “auto inscribes” and “doesn’t need to be taught” (kill off organised religion)
  • not quoted but the new covenant iirc is “do unto others as you would have them do unto you” which I don’t have an issue with

JC expressly abrogates the commandment of an 'Eye for an Eye' (Exodus 21:23–27) during his Sermon on the mount:

“You have heard that it was said, ‘Eye for eye, and tooth for tooth.’[a] 39 But I tell you, do not resist an evil person. If anyone slaps you on the right cheek, turn to them the other cheek also. 40 And if anyone wants to sue you and take your shirt, hand over your coat as well. 41 If anyone forces you to go one mile, go with them two miles. 42 Give to the one who asks you, and do not turn away from the one who wants to borrow from you.''

- Matthew 5:38

Technically eye for an eye isn’t a commandment (but was a guiding principle pre JC as you state)
