At the 'G' you dont really notice it, at Telstra, it was faint compared to a real BOO, but it still sounded like a very faint Boo, even as he ran on the ground off the bench.I have to say, watching the replay, if you knew nothing about how Collingwood supporters treat their own, and the "Tooooooovvveeees" cult call that has developed over time, you would have thought Toovey was the most hated player ever to wear black and white.
We need to "tweak" the Tooves chant just a little, it really does sound like a "Booooooooo".
As stated above, even Toovey said himself in a CTV interview that he didn't know why the supporters were booing him early in the season.
Love the "Toooovvvvveeess" chant though, it's happening when he lays tackles and makes spoils now.
Not sure he deserves cult status. Why does he get cult status when he for all intents and purposes fights above his weight. He is OK at times, handy at best, a stopper if anything, but definitely not a match winner.
If he gets cult status, then Jason Wild should have been deified for really defying the laws of logic and getting a game.

Tooves was the last invite to be handed out and when Dayne asked Tooves what was in his hand, Tooves let it slip that he had got an invite but Dayne didn't. Now because Jaxson isn't getting a game, Tooves has been made the scapegoat. The faint boo is coming from the Beams family showing their displeasure.

Fact is I created them...most at the request of others.
We have a Collingwood Wallpapers thread, which I have no doubt you are not familiar with and I happen to do a bit of photoshopping.....ergo I and a few others make the odd wallpaper or two for the supporters. Several where on the club website in 2004-2006.
That said I happily admit to a bit of man love for the Tooves in a fatherly sort of way. Nothing makes me happier than to see a young fella succeed against the odds and popular opinion. I am a big believer in singing the praises of the unsung.

One thing which this thread and your comment brings into focus is that fact that you don't really have your head right around what goes on at the club, in the general supporter population and on this board.
It's all here for the browsing, we even had our own religion there for a while....
I think out of anything you've posted before, this has finally shown what type of a person you really are. To be so far out of the loop in the first place with Toovey is one thing, but to then come on with comments like this is just priceless.

Toovey was one of our better players in the 2009 finals, unlike our supposed stars who went missing. He didn't look at all overwhelmed or intimidated by being in the finals and it could be argued that he was our best player when we played St. Kilda.
