He should. It's not the way he should be remembered.

Recruiting Carey has put the Crows back at least a few years in terms of recruiting.
If he plays on, it should be performance based.
I didn't think he was getting paid that much.Originally posted by DaveMorro

That is crap.Originally posted by Chris_Judd
The Adelaide crows recruiting smells of Carlton of 2000.... trying to steal 1 last premiership with an ageing list and giving up top draft picks to do it....
Look where Carlton are only 2 years later..... Adelaide are right on track to be joining them in a few years to play for the wooden spoon.

If next year Jakovich retired, and then you would lose Cousins and Gardiner, plus if Judd was to walk out of the Club, you would get the wooden spoon too.Originally posted by Chris_Judd
Is it?
Carlton were in a Grand Final under 3 years ago.....
Eagles were unbeatable at one stage of 1999 unbeaten on top of the ladder and went on to make the finals.... 2 years later we were almost bottom for 2 years....
It doesnt take very long to go from a top 4 team to a bottom 4 team. Just ask Carlton..... and remember this when Adelaide is there in 2 years.
So who's retiring in the next 2 years....... Ronnie Burns? Wayne Carey? Mark Bickley? Riccuitto? Nigel Smart? They are in more trouble than they can ever imagine... and they are throwing away #2 draft picks like confetti.

Bickley retired tonight. And Ricciuto is 27, still has another 7 years left in him.

I'm talking about the main reason Carlton got the spoon so soon after making the finals regularly.Originally posted by Chris_Judd
Jakovich will probably retire next year.. yes... he is hardly an integral part of our side... playing CHF or bench.. he is the last of our "old players"
Ben Cousins is 25 years old.
Michael Gardiner is 24 years old
Chris Judd is 20 years old.
Daniel Kerr is 20 years old.
I am guessing they arent going to be retiring anytime soon. We are a finals side with one of the youngest lists in the AFL.
Adelaide are a finals side with one of the oldest.
I think I know who should be the team keeping their #2 pick and drafting youngsters.

It is possible for Carey to have a big preseason and come out raring to go next year isnt it??
I'd like to see that personally
