Yes they would haev. Crows were going to sacrifice whatever to get Carey. He was the number one priority hte ystated that amny times. If they had the number one pick I have no doubt htehy would have traded that too as Kangaroos played hardball.
 
I think Carey will see out 2004, providing he doesn't get injured.

The Crows now need to recruit for the future.

Their playing list is getting old, and FAST !

I can see Adelaide spending a few years outside of the 8 in the years to come if they continue to cling to ageing players, such as 'the Roo', Andy McLeod and Carey. Sure, three players don't make up the list, but they are the players that the Crows rely on week after week to produce something.

wayne carey has a value and its two parts first hes an ol bastard who wont ask for milions and secondly he has enough presence to be worth a couple of goals and the defender he soaks up and the help he prolly inspires in the young blokes but i don't like him and he should go back to wagga and do what ever they do there :mad:
