New Years resolution, cleared the ignore list, some didn't last too long, you still cling on.

I think when most suggest that players can take a year to settle they don't mean it that literally. More players start slow and hopefully by seasons end they're fairly firmly entrenched in the 22. Not usual that a new recruit hits the ground running round 1. I can't recall the last 1 that did off the top of my head.

Adams form through the preseason and early games didn't demand that he usurp established mids. Wasn't getting enough of the footy and ball use was very average. You just don't reward that. Whether Ball was cooked or not (he was, back was nackered), he still had credits and it was up to Adams to take his opportunities and show he was the better option.

You're probably right, I generally take comments literally unless its obvious they're exaggerating.

I may be wrong but I remember Adams racking up possessions against Geelong in the pre season match. I agree Ball had the credits and deserved to play ahead of Adams initially, I think persisted with Ball for too long and he should have at least been rested for Adams but that's not the point. The point was he wasn't given the opportunity rightly or wrongly to settle initially but he was he took it with both hands.

Agree with People saying we should not Expect WHE to Play Well at AFL Level Straight away. Could take some time bit in a way Aish did

WHE is also three years older than Aish was when he arrived at Collingwood, so he's got less time on his side in that sense. Has had a lot of injuries though, to be fair.

Not really sure how much slack to cut before we should A) Expect him in the senior side, and B) Expect consistent perfomances. 2018?

Yep, needs to perform consistently this year along with Broomy. Tick tock

Varcoe, Howe, Jolly, Ball... Players coming from other clubs more often than not take time. Can train together all preseason but a lot of football behavior is conditioned into players over years and not always easy to change in the cauldron of senior footy. I don't have an issue with that if ultimately they reach their potential as all those previously listed have done. Very excited about what WHE will ultimately bring to the side as the season progresses.

12 months in the new system is all he should be given would hope to see something mid to late in the year and best 22 In 2018.

So not in Best 22 by end of the Season and IF he Can't then he is a Massive Bust?

He gets next year, Pies would be dissapointed not to see some signs of best 22 quality by years end.

A bit will depend on injuries and players like Elliott returning from injuries, I don't see an immediate spot for him if we have a fit list but if he strings some good pre season or early season form together his position on the list will change. As of this moment I see him outside the best 22

If he can play to his potential he won't need injuries to get a game, he will be best 22. IMHO

The highlighted is the question mark. There have been plenty of players who for all sorts of reasons dont end up playing to the level there God given talent suggests they should be able to. WHE will be 22 if he does, question is will he? Injury, distractions, mental strength etc etc. He still has to prove he is AFL level yet.

I was just trying to point out that he can force himself into the team without the assistance of injuries

Yeah I see that. Myself I reckon he needs to prove a bit more before I would assess him that way.
