Well, what do you think Freo supporters? Will Tarrant be as good as Modra? Did Modra even have a following in Fremantle - like alot of players, you kind of lose track of them when they head West - cept for CLIVE! :thumbsu:

First they play totally different positions,so hard to compare. Tarrant will play across half forward you'd think, whereas Modra was a stay at home FF. Also, Mods came to Freo when we were crap and had no "star quality" players at all. He lifted the spirits and I am sure put some bums on seats that otherwise wouldn't have bothered. Tarrant is coming to a team where they are pushing for a premiership, and already have a bonafide superstar forward in Pav, and a star side-kick in the Wiz, so the expectation is completely different.

Modra still holds the goal-kicking record at Freo (equalled by Pav this year - but Modra kicked his 71 in fewer games), and the most goals kicked in a game by a Docker (being 10 against Melb at the MCG in 2000), so he definitely has a profile among the Freo faithful.

modra attracted me to the dockers, hopefull tarrant will attract a new generation of supporters. Modra>Tarrant

Tarrant will do some good things at freo. But Freo supporters don't jump the gun yet.....Tarrant will play well for the first year but he is not a Big Game Player....Modra was....Although Modra played his best footy with the Crows.

Is not a specialised FF unlikie Modra and cannot kick 80 goals a year.
40 from Tarrant will be good. I hope he also helps out Pavlich and Farmer and Murphy and frees them up a bit to make the forward line more effective and dangerous.

Tarrant can't Kick Straight to Save his Life!

I really hope Freo fans go into next year with no hyped up expectations on Tarrant. I dont care what his possesions in a game are as long as he is contributing to the win. If that means taking a defender away so that Pav can have more room then so be it.

"My expectations of Tarrant are 8-10 marks, 15-18 possessions and 2 goals a game." These kind of expectations are what writers of the West will love.

mods will always be a crow, nobody remembers him for his time at freo

I even forgot that Modra went there, in about 2-3 years time the same will be with tarrant and sillyman, will always be remembered as collingwood and essendon players.

In a great draft to give Medhurst who kicks more goals that Tarrant and Pick 8 away is madness. Still trading bad Dockers.

"nobody", with the exception of Freo fans who watched him play.
Seriously what kind of one eyed statement is that. Modra was a shining light in a dark era for Freo and we all embraced him.
In fact he invested in real estate near the Margaret River area if i recall. A hobby farm of sorts.

As long as C Tarrant adjusts to life in the wild west we are set for a big year, a huge year in fact. Bring it on !
