• Elimination of 50:50 mid:wing role allows new role in the side - Swingman Cox. Cox plays forward whenever Jackson rucks or one of Amiss or Treacy are off the field.
• Benefits to Swingman Cox include:
  • Maintaining 3 tall forwards structure at all times throughout the game.
  • Improved injury redundancy on game day for talls.
  • Cox can play an interceptor role rather than lockdown when playing back if desired i.e 3 KPD.
  • It gets the next most AFL ready player we have available into the side (Draper).

I think this is pretty realistic lineup for R1, given JLo is slightly conservative + giving the young guys a chance. I would prefer to see Omerara dropped and Switta as sub but that ain't going to happen.

That Was not my preferred b22, that was my predicted one. I bet JLo tries to squeeze in Fyfe round one as well.

Assuming all 3 are fit and have a good summer at least 2 of Fyfe, Walters and O'Meara are playing round one. We'll quite possibly see one as sub and the other subbed out early in the 3rd (assuming the sub rule remains the same) but 2 of them will be in the 23.

That type of mentality will hold us back. We have kids we need to start pumping games into like Noddy, Erasmus and Johnson. I stuck with Treacy since day one and said he needed more game time to solidfy his spot in our b22. That moved paid dividends. Now I want the coach to do the same for Noddy and Erasmus.

I don't disagree with you, but I'll be shocked if match committee send Walters, Fyfe and O'Meara to Peel round one.

At least 2 will play round 1 assuming they have a good preparation IMO. Hopefully by round 4 or 5 the young guys have forced them out.

The difference between Treacy and Erasmus is that Treacy is competing for a spot with Pat Voss who is around the same age. Erasmus needs to get past 2 club greats, one that has 2 Brownlow medals to break into the side.

That's about it, although I'd swap Sturt for Freddy from the get go.

Draper is an interesting one.

I like him but there is team structure.
