I ain't complying with anything they ask or enforce. At worst I'll download the app on a secondary phone and leave it at home 24/7. If one is not allowed outdoors without phone+app on them, indeed, not allowed back into society/employment without app+vaccine...then im staying indoors and will have to rethink life.

It's optional, there has been no mention of restrictions if you don't download it.

There’s no point, I don’t go anywhere.
Andrews and Sutton have said it's of no consequence to them currently regarding lifting restrictions. They don't seem interested in what any other state is doing.
So at this point in Vic it's not going to change anything.

Maybe the OP should explain in detail what the app is for exactly. So we know what we're voting yes/no about.
Missed all the discussion over the last few weeks about various tracking and tracing apps governments and tech companies around the world are starting to bring out?
This is the Australian one announced today and all over news and social media.

Never hurts to find out what your commenting on before commenting. I seriously doubt you and your friends on the conspiracy board haven't been talking about what you think this is.

Wouldnt have hurt to give a brief overview of it in the OP still.

If its purely track'n'trace, and nothing else...then yeah, i'd download it on secondary phone, and leave that phone at home all day.

But i am sure it'll start off track/trace only at first, and then theyd gradually push things further once people happily/numbly went along with it.

It's of no value on a phone at home.

If they release the source code like they have said they will then you will know what if anything you need to worry about.
If they don't release it then you'd have some legit reasons to be worried.

No rush to install it really so may as well wait and see what the next few days brings

Geez the fibs...

"The more people who download this important public health app, the safer they and their family will be, the safer their community will be and the sooner we can safely lift restrictions and get back to business and do the things we love," he said

Burner is still insuffiecient because the app, you have to completely fill out your personal details, name, address, dob, phone number, comply to have all your medical records stored, etc. They say the info wont be shared with govt agencies etc, but you know it will. Anyway, seemingly you wont be able to put in some fake name and address because downloading it to your phone, even a burner, means theyll have your phone number and thus your real name, address, etc. Would be a verification code sent to your phone upon registration. So you cant bs the app with false info. Its not merely the tracking thats bad here, but that youre giving up all your info that isnt really secure and private.

Claire Danes as CIA operative Carrie Mathieson on Homeland. It's a good series if a bit ott.
I knew she looked familiar. She was in T3:ROTM and 90s Juliet in Romeo and Juliet.

If I was going to work every day among a heap of people, thought I was at risk and didn't want to bring it home, I might download it in an separate, clean device. Throw it away at the end of it all. I don't care if they get my name, address and dob. Medical records though, no they can't have those.

Thats part of the app, medic records consent to give. The app will trace all the people you come into contact with, if you stayed within 2 meters or not, etc. Thats bad news, you know they could easily use that to dish out fines or force you to vaccinate. But the supposed point of the app is IF you ended up contracting covid19 (which is a fake disease) then theyd share your info and track down all the people you came into contact with....obviously to hit them up with forced vaccinations etc. I really so no point to downloading it, given the nefarious things they can do with your data and measures like fining you, forcing you to vaccinate, etc. Youre not helping australia stay safe etc, youre just consenting to have your rights and privacy abused
