That's because it's so unbalanced. All the yellow is off to the right.

I wonder if having EAGLES underneath (like the original jumpers) would balance things better. I certainly wouldn't be averse to it.

People argue that the old Eagle head looks too dated, or retro. However, I would argue that it makes it 'historic'.
Look at some of the logos in the Premier league for instance. They date back to the 19th century. Chelsea's logo was updated sometime in the 80s with a crappy lion, but a fan movement similar to RTW pushed for the reinstatement of the original logo, which we now see on their tops. Nobody complains that it looks too dated.

As an Outsider I think West Coast should do what Brisbane and Geelong have done:

Traditional or traditional looking logo on the jumper.

Modern logo for other merchandise.

The original eagle is now ageless and should be on the jumper permanently
