Play Nice with the 2016 premiership, where can the Bulldogs get to now?

Actually I have a lot more respect for Hawks fans, generally. Guess they've had a lot more practice handling success. Might be different for their traditional rivals like Essendon and Carlton, and more recently Geelong I guess.

I, I, I.

The post wasn't even addressing you but you just can't help yourself.
Self absorbed delusion that your opinion on who deserves respect matters.

guessing you won't respect a GWS flag either because you don't have a history of success

Should be be able to consolidate in the top 4 for the next few years and be genuine challengers through that period. I don't think their list is the best in the AFL - need Boyd to go on from here and Stringer to take a big step. If those two things happen I can see them sneaking another flag. If not they probably have to find a forward (don't see Cloke as a long term solution).

Self absorbed delusion is posting an opinion on the main board in your mind, I get that.
But it's actually responding with outrage and personal attacks that someone has the gall to post an opinion you dont like. All I can say is get used to it.

I'll keep an eye out for your next account when it all gets too hard again bok

Personal attacks really is all you have isn't it. Congratulations for working out the obvious, hope for the education system yet. Clearly you dont get it, try and understand that's lifes just too short to waste trying to explain things to the likes of you. I wont respond further.

I'm hoping we'll be debt free in the next few years. Can see us playing in finals for a sustained period with this list and coach.

One thing I'll be looking at next year is if other teams will copy our quick handballing or if the league will direct umpires to start paying free kicks for the less obvious throws that we get away with quite a bit.

I'm more concerned that Dogs supporters seem to be heading towards Hawks like levels of flogness.

I'd half agree half disagree with this one.

Hawks fans I find to be generally a lot more pleasant to deal with.

Bulldogs fans on the other hand.........for the most part, absolute D/Hs in my eyes.

Our clubs experience with them in and around spotless for the PF was very negative. They applauded and cheered Ward's injury during the game, booed our guys off the goround after it. I also had an appalling experience on the train on the way home. A group abused Giants supporters getting off the train, waited until they were out of range and the doors were closing of course.
On our board there are numerous other examples. It's not all of them, of course but it's not just on BF either.

That's footy tribalism. You might get it one day.

As for the freo poster you are engaging with, he's got an irrational hatred of the dogs so it's funny seeing him spout off

Crameri returning will have a massive impact there, his body work and gut running was missed a lot this season.

Im surprised at the anger here. Dogs fans ive encountered just generally thrilled and grateful to see their team finally win a flag. Certainly not arrogant
I for one am not angry, just contemptuous of the arrogance that leads to personal attacks on any less than deferential opinion on BF. I'm sure there are quality Bulldogs supporters, and perhaos you should encourage them to get out more. It might change the perception.

FWIW i did think the personal attack earlier was over the top

FWiW with Redpath out for 2017 Cloke is a stop gap.

Once Boyd T has developed to where he needs to be, Redpath has regained some form and English is getting game time with Tom Campbell I wouldn't expect to see anything more than 2 seasons at the most out of Cloke

A third premiership is the only thing the Dogs need to worry about. Everything else follows.
That's not always the case.

We won a premiership but weren't able to capitalise on it off the field, and were playing in front of 13k and in serious debt a few years later. However, without a premiership, our administration were able to make significant changes (Adelaide Oval move, realignment between SANFL and AFL club and a focused branding) which saw us become a far bigger club in terms of crowds, membership and $$ than we had ever been.

Sometimes the administration of the club and their off-field decisions have a bigger impact than winning premierships.

Sometimes the administration of the club and their off-field decisions have a bigger impact than winning premierships.

This is where club management needs to look to the past and learn from the mistakes of others who have not had the right business model going forward to capitalise on the on field success. A Bulldog 2016 event (cited by Mr Squiggle) will often impact finances with a short term spike in revenue from membership growth, sponsorship and merchandise.

Clubs need to look beyond the year by year focus to plotting long term roadmaps (5 years, 10 years) for improving cash flow and invest wisely where the capital growth will have the best chance at long term sustainable growth off field.

With all due respect to our North Melbourne neighbors, 2 flags in the late 90's didn't give them the growth they'd hoped in terms of financial stability. Not digressing to criticising the club, if your financial business model is wrong you're going to be on the back foot until you can start getting cash flow growth.

Really? Reading your tantrums after every Dogs finals win this year was a highlight for me.
You could even extend this to wins during the home and away season. It's the gift that keeps on giving.

Um no. I didn't comment after the first 2 finals as far as I can recall.

There is no hatred at all, just a strong dislike of your supporter base.

Time will tell, at the moment the future could be anything, however the real test will come later, like what hawthorn are going to go through now, once success had past and flags are won, will members still rock up every week, crowd numbers and study profits continue. Best thing is for the dogs to have more continued success and worry about the rest later.
Hawthorns success in the 70's and 80's created a sleeping giant of support which came to life a generation later. the kids who jump on succesful teams pay thier way many many years later. You have just done it again this last decade.

If hawthorn do drop for 5 or so yeara before hitting the top again they cash in big time, again, which they deserve.

As happy as bulldogs supporters are at the moment we still have to build our own sleeping giant for 2025 and beyond.

It can't be a fluke and orchastrated. they are mutually exclusive.
Which is it?

Got him there. His melting has been spectacular. No wonder he changed his name
