Even with hormones they are still built differently and have a natural advantage of body development as a male up to a certain age.

Hormones also don't reverse height advantages if a great one exists.

I assume we are banning Aaron Sandilands for being so big and tall then?

It's not a long bow. Sorry, but have you ever played any sport? Sure doesn't sound like it if you call a common occurrence a "very long bow" Another couch expert with no practical experience?

Do tell me, if a player is running along the wing and they get scragged by the tackler who grabs a piece of head wear hanging down their back is that a legit tackle or is it head high?

Yes I'm aware of some Islamic women playing football, there was a piece on TV not long back highlighting it. Thus my question regarding head ware as their head ware was down past their shoulders and could easily be grabbed hold of or get caught up in other limbs.
You do realise that there are many tight fitting elasticised alternatives they may choice to wear in these circumstances? I doubt someone in a competitive sporting environment would wear something hanging down their back.

Melbourne and the Dogs cant seriously have expected to keep all the best talent just because they played in the exhibition matches in those jumpers, and they shouldnt get any further a headstart because of it. All teams should start on the same terms and rules.
Why not they're going to need every headstart they can get with Collingwood and Carlton spending it up.

I'm not asking to keep every player. I'm asking to keep one - the captain who has been introduced by all and sundry as 'Melbourne captain Daisy Pearce' for the better part of 12 months...including by the AFL at the 2015 Brownlow Medal.

Different circumstances. This should be a new ball game.

All clubs get the same crack at the marquees. Other teams jumped early too - Tayla Harris and the Lions, Erin Phillips and Port - even though they didn't get a license - so Carlton should have jumped on. Sounds like they may be with Lauren Arnell if her interview on 3AW was anything to go by.

I was simply quizzical about what the potential policy might be for certain things which could need to be addressed with a women's league in a time of inclusiveness. maybe it was in my head because I saw that South African track runner at a meet the other day.

You might be right that it's an issue for all female contact sports. So is there anything wrong in finding out what the answer is if someone can shed light on it?

I don't understand how this has gone from not wanting to watch a substandard product or pour money into a lost cause to concern for the safety of women if a transgender person decided to play or religious headwear is worn. It seems this might be an issue for all female contacts sports on both counts and individual sports on one account.

So what is your solution?

It's called concern trolling. It isn't particularly clever or inventive. http://www.urbandictionary.com/define.php?term=concern troll

Lauren was hired to drive our bid and to further her own coaching ambitions as she holds her Level 2 coaching accreditation. She is 28 and I note that she wasn't in the 6 that the Dogs were allowed to retain before last draft, whereby everybody else goes back into the draft. She was then taken at 15 in the draft so notionally rated 27th best overall. Not sure if that is right or not, and Carlton have certainly committed to her. Wonder if we could take 2 other players as marquee players and hope she got to us in the draft. Probably not worth the risk I guess.

Will wearing of cultural head wear be allowed in this league?

What a really really really dumb question. Why wouldn't they be allowed to wear cultural headwear? The women from the Auburn Giants play in hijabs with full length skins all the time - have done for years. Absolutely no problems.

It's not? Are people allowed to play with Turbans in the men's game given potential safety concerns?

It's a question of safety really. Most sports prohibit anything that could potentially see people getting injured by inappropriate clothing.

What's unsafe about a turban anyway? What's unsafe about a hijab? You're just trying to find problems that don't exist.

Get over yourself. The girls are going to play and your nit picking negativity ain't going to stop them.

Hard to know. Some of the marquees are going to be worth their weight in other areas. I can see Daisy ending up on commentary teams in 10 years - she's a natural at the media stuff, just needs more practice.

It will be interesting to see who the coaches are. Are they likely to be guys from within the current AFL coaching ranks? Or female coaches? Could see arguments for either to be the best person for the job, depending on the individual and the philosophy of the decision makers at each club.

Michelle Cowan would be a lock at either Melbourne or Freo. Beyond that it's the big unknown really. You would suspect that Jane Lange, coach at Darebin, would be looked at.

Could see female coaches across the spectrum but having access to football department resources as a VFL or development coach might. I certainly know that Bolton and Barker have been credited by Arnell for developing her so I assume that means as a coach. Maybe Captain Coach for us with one of our assistants sharing the role from the bench.

There will be plenty of new women viewers so I don't imagine that will be a problem, unless there are a high percentage of AFL fans stubborn enough not to watch because of such a petty reason.

Petty? Ha.

Saints are my club I certainly won't be ploughing any money into supporting any of these other clubs represented in the Women's league.

Surely the better option would have been not to have one at all. Nobody is interest in the men's comp up there, why is the women's comp going to be any different?

Apparently women's participation rates are fairly strong in Queensland. Unlike with men, AFL is probably more preferable as a women's sport than rugby league is.

What about little Jessica from Frankston? What if she wants to see the girls play in the big league? Instead of her parents taking a short trip to Moorabbin or even Frankston Oval, now they have to take her all the way into the CBD. How is that beneficial to Womens Footy?

They can take her to Casey Field to watch Melbourne play or have you overlooked the fact St Kilda weren't the only team bidding for the South East and certainly not the best.

Well, there is a train station at Frankston. All she needs to do is jump on a train with her family and get off at Richmond. Very simple. For kids, the train ride is part of the experience. I've done it when I'm in Mt Martha. Never had an issue with the kids.

The hysterical Saints fans in here are probably the same ones happy to ditch Seaford and wanted to move to Junction Oval yet somehow want to be exclusivelyknown as the bayside/penninsula club of Melbourne. How about making a long term plan to put back into the area rather than rip-off local councils if you wish to claim a geography as your own.
Or how about they attempt to remove the large chip on their shoulder and work on building a successful club. Work on getting some paid members for a start. Maybe then they will have a voice and be rightly considered for a team.
