By Gezzus that some big names in.....

Hopefully no late changes.

That IS some big names in, and i doubt we would normally bring in that many changes under normal circumstances, but with finals next week we need to get these gyus out there for a run, and this is the last chance.

While Embley and Gardiner need some match fitness, that team is, on paper, as close to our best 22 as we will get in 2005. Waters, Smith and Gaspar won't play this year while Butler and Bones will struggle to break into that side unless there is another injury.

I really want to see Staker play a whole game at CHB as he is, along with Gaspar, the guy on our list most likely to develop into a permanent CHB. He was probably earmarked for that spot earlier on this season but didn't perform well enough. He's played with a lot more confidence recently and it could be time to give him another run at CHB and hope he stands up. He is an obvious match-up for Hentschel.

It's time to flex the muscles and produce our best footy. I'm ********ing pumped up for this match.

Come on Eagles!

I feel for B.Jones though....

Played very well for most of the season, was a dour defender for a long time, its fallen away a fair bit in the last month or so. No shame in that though.

Hold your head up son, and come back stronger in the finals or next year.

I would be surprised if Gardiner actually plays. Jaymie Graham might be a surprise inclusion, who has been in very good form in the WAFL.

Brett Jones has been struggling with an ankle injury for a while now, he might be back for the finals but he hasn't been playing too well recently.

B. Jones will definately be back for the finals.

Looking on the bench there's not really many defenders there.
The question of Brett Jones is really a function of the bigger question about who our best option is at CHB.

If Hunter is our best option at CHB, then Jones could command a place as a 3rd defensive tall.

But I, along with many others, have been suggesting for some time that we need a genuine tall at CHB. This would allow Hunter to play as a 3rd tall, and could make things tough for Bones.

If Staker stands up at CHB, or if someone else (Gaspar, Lynch or someone we trade for) makes that position their own in 2006, Hunter would be released to play that third tall role. I'm not sure what Bones' role would be in that event.

I reckon he could also be given a rest coz he has had a couple of limps up over the past weeks.

Yeh i agree give him a rest to get over niggling injuries

Not sure why Sampi hasn't been dropped. He strikes me as a guy who needs a kick in the pants to get him going.

Watch closely as they run out onto the ground on Saturday....you might see Worsfold deliver one. ;)

They are 4 big inclusions, but Wirra is the only one without a question mark at this stage. Is Matera fit? If he is he should play. With Gardiner and Embley it's a question of a lack of match fitness.....but they are running out of games in which to find some.
The good thing is they have named an extra tall this week...thanks to Embley being a tall midfielder who can go forward and mark.

Lets all hope they perform well. Best of luck to Embers, good to see a Swan Districts lad play. ;)

I see Bones as a stocky, reasonably quick defender, not a tall defender in the mould of Staker or Hunter. More like a Chick. Don't think other tall defenders are going to affect him really.

Really? Do you think Graham will play. Not this week I dont think, I think we are desparate to get Gardiner going. I think Graham should be used in defence in the finals especially if we come up against a tall foward structure and dont forget Gaspar.
