The expectation here has to be 6 points.

Top 2 qualify for the World Cup with 3rd and 4th going to the next stage for another shot, and I think we're all a bit sick of going down that route.

Japan and Saudi are once again the main competition in this group. Last time we lost both games vs Japan, and only took 1 point out of a possible 6 against Saudi. We will surely drop points to both again.

But even more alarmingly we dropped vital points to China and Oman. That sort of thing just should not happen this time around against Bahrain, China or Indonesia.

Even if we end up going to the fourth round, which we likely will, we'll make the world cup no worries.

This 48 team business has diluted the achievement of making it.

Very true - I forgot about the new format.

Would still very much rather we made a habit of qualifying at the earliest possible opportunity.

I feel exactly the same, tbh this qualifying campaign particularly against some of the lower teams seems pretty boring.

With 48 teams, we're going to make it. The thrill of past qualification campaigns is well and truly dead.

The Japan, Saudi Arabia games will hold some interest to see where we are at, the rest don't really inspire much.

An away loss or draw against Oman, China or Indonesia would certainly **** me off all the same.

Great stuff Channel 10. Cut to an ad break and miss the kick off.
