Re: Braybrook

Evo, i thought Angwin did a hammy early on in the year, why then has he had surgery?

Is Juegan the best player on current form in Div 2?[/quote]

yeah he did do a hammy but the week before he hyperextended his arm in a marking contest...he had a cortisone shot during the week and after it wore off couldnt move his arm got it checked by a surgeon and he had torn the ligament near off the bone so bottom line is no footy and no wristies hahahaha lol. it is now a week by week prospect with his minimum return maybe next week but depends on the surgeon....(i have the docs number on speed dial hahahaha)

best on ballers in comp is very hard to determine because most of the good ones all play differently....if i take my self out of the equation....Ba hahahahaha............
Dennerley....this year i have had a chance to work hand in hand with this man and on field he is a very hard worker gets plenty of the pill and sure does cover some distance durring the game. he reads the play better than anyone in this comp and gets his own footy but sticks to team rules with dishing the footy off when he has to....(obviously my opinion here is bias but he is trully in top couple of players in comp)

robbo from deer park is a quality player and i missed going head to head with him this year as we have had some great battles over the years. he gets his body in the right position nearly all the time and damaging by foot with distance and accuracy

jueagen is a gun....he plays as a true centerman and his side play thru him and its not hard to see why...he uses the ball very well, has time when he gets it and almost always makes the right decision with the footy in his hands, and also is very strong over the footy and in the air.

endres....only seen him once and got a couple of match day videos but i see enough to say he is a very hard working onballer and his workrate alone needs to be respected. obviously is very fit and his pace and composure get him out of trouble reguraly. only critisism i have seen could be turns footy over through wrong decisions a little....but u would take that as the kid is only young and has a huge footy life ahead of him.

forwards
davis...huge man big marking power and uses body well...proven goal kicker...would play in all teams without a doubt

angwin.....when playing is almost unstoppable...lets hope a few teams see this later in year hahahahaha

buttergieg-clarke....very young, reads play well and got great goal accuracy...been good this year for first year of senior footy and has got success in his sights from watchin spotty after his games last year. will not be in div2 for long i would suggest.

cain.... proven goal kicker, gets into the right spots goalside of play and finishes pretty well. got a descent mark on him and very good in protecting the drop zone of the footy.

holman....our young CHF....very big future, very quick and great skilld for a 18yo, takes a huge mark and always lands on feet. will be dangerous as year goes on.

BACKS

grouios (yarra)....very solid and genuine full back, tough and gives his opponent nothing. dont think has been beatewn this year.

altair....been a solid backman for the vales for a long time as is rarely beaten. reads the play faster than anyone, great closing speed and is corageous.

sir....what a player need i say more

albanvale have a few

nth footscray have some great players but i have not seen enough of them to comment or pass judgment. this is just my opinion and from games and footage i have seen this year.
apologies to anyone whom i have left out.....this is my opinion not yours hahahaha

Bad news with angwin, I think it would have been good to see him running around every week in the competition! Is he a sure thing to be on board next season?

Also Evo, I think Dennerly would be fine for wristies if he did his shoulder, because by the sounds of things you'd be pleased to do the job for him! haha!! But no, I agree he is a gun , however if I were to have one
criticism of him in the games I've seen him play, it's that he is too unselfish. I spose thats hardly a criticism of him though, but I would rather see Dennerly under a bit of pressure delivering to the forwards than some of the other onballers. Maybe thats come from him playing in a really good Spotty side where he could offload to anyone with a good end result.
This is beginning to sound like a bit of an interview with the great man, but what can you tell me about Adam Mokrusch? A few years ago I heard Old Westbourne had big wraps on him, then I saw a few weeks ago he was playing in your twos? Injury or form? If he gets it going, could be a very important player for the Falcons going forwards.
Lastly, what is happening with Bunnworth? I know he's overseas this season, will he be back on board next season or going to have another go at a higher level? It pains me to say this, but if all these guys stay on board and a few more recruits come along, the falcons could be back amongst it in 2010.

yeah denerz is a good player and really wants to bring others into the game and so far this year we have seen a massive improvement in most of our players and his leadership and ability to stick to team rules with that on field stuff sets the standard and has shown others that they are expected to do the same. this year is and always has been a year for improvement and structure within our playing group and we are pretty happy with where we think we are at going forward.

i have spoken to angwin about next year and he is very keen to get back on the park with us next year and show his team mates why he is here...nothing in concrete yet but it is only june....

mokrucsh is a very good player and very versatile and is goin to be handy going forward for us..he played in the twos cos he was injured and had to have a run before coming back...wse have done that all year with everyone so as we can set the standard that everyone has to earn their spot and be playin good footy to get in ones...i hope its working haha

bunworth will be playing with the vales next year as far as i know...spoke to him couple of weeks ago and he is keen to run with us next year....maybe back in next couple of weeks pending on his oversees travels (and if he gets tickets to the ashes lol)

and thommo is a little gun would have in my side every week.

Evo, are you suggesting that Lauie Angwin will be coming back up through the twos?? I would hate to see the sort of damage he would do to a reserves defence.

Good news for you about bunworth coming back, though bit worrying that the vales are getting all these guys back, can't say I don't enjoy having a big win over them!

may have to make an exception with laurie hahaha....
the best thing for the club is that we are really gettin g some positive feedback from other clubs and really good past players that are keen to get back on board for next year, this should hold us in really good position for the future (coming years)...there is a really good feel around the club and with easily the youngest list in the comp (only 4 players over 22 in seniors)the guys can really start at working together to hopefully build something that has not been done at our club....get to div1.

but without getting ahead of ourselves we have got alot of work to do for the rest of this year and even more work for next....

who are u and who do u play for????cantkick

Thommo still needs to go. lol. then positives will start to happen.

He is 4 foot tall and wears size 46 shorts. Biggest backside since Harford.

Bit quiet on here. Most games seem to have gone as per expected. Any feedback from matches? A few bags of 5+ goal kickers. Does anyone know the running tally for goals?? Assume Davis is on top - must be close behind though with zurek, buttigieg clark and mainsbridge all consistenylu getting amongst them

Fabian Winmar (ALBANVALE) 11 44
Mathew Zurek (LAVERTON) 11 41
Shaun Buttigieg-Clarke (D.PARK) 11 39
Bosko Micevski (DEER PARK) 11 33

My take.

Davis.
Tall Marking/Forward. I think that Davis is by far the best forward but he is benifets from being in a great team this year and the lack of quality big backmen. Never the less a champion forward and will more than likely win the comp goalkicking. More than likley will kick 100 plus goals.

Mansbridge.
Myself, you all know how i love talking about myself....
I play midfield, CHF and full forward so i my goal kicking tally suffers a little from that. Playing in a team that sometimes struggles in the midfield it can be diffucult but we are getting better. I am on track for 80-90 goals.

Winmar.
Small forward, good on the lead and good finisher. Seems to go missing against the better teams and i was not all that impressed with him when we played us. Never the less still has done his job with 44 goals and is a player that needs attention. On track for 60-70 goals.

Zurek.
Small forward who is very smart around the goals. He has done well considering his size but seems to have either gone missing or playing a diffrent role over the past month as he has kicked only 6 goals over the past month. A great return for Lavo of 41 goals to date and most likely kick 60-70 goals depending on where is plays.

Deer Park Boys.
Small forwards. Great players and really a key to Deer Parks sucess. They play more as flankers/pockets and are very quick and smart and are very good finishers. This is what makes Deer Park good is having 2 forward options instead of replying on 1 like a lot of other clubs.

Thats my take on the leading goalkickers. Davis will win the goalkicking(as long as stays injury free). I am really suprised that Lucas has only returned 29 goals would have to be a real dissapiontment for Nth Footscray. Has all the attributes to be a leading forward in the comp not sure if he plays back/midfield at times but even so he should still have kicked alot more goals considering he is playing in the 3rd best team who have a good midfield i would of though 26 goals is a below par return.

Scrappy win to the eagles yesterday over a fighting coburg. Yarra started strongly, allthough I think it was the fact that coburg weren't switched on to start. We shut up shop in the second qtr and played the worst footy I've seen us play all year. Coburg were harder at the ball and prepared to run, and we were made to look silly. Picked up the tempo in the second half and managed to get away with the points thanks to some big plays in the last qtr by Cain and jez ollis to name a few.

Coburg fought hard all day and put up an excellent game in front of their vocal supporters. Best for them I thought were big number 5, number 11 played well and kept getting his hands on it, 4 kicked a few but was pretty lucky I thought. Best for yarra were brad fuller, Andy Willis worked hard all day, Frankling was great in the ruck, and green was sensational all day unroll KO'ed in a legit tackle with a minute to go.

A lot of work for yarra to do to improve on a poor performance overall. Were lucky to get away with it.

Umpires were okay but made a couple of howlers.

How is Ryan Green going in his first season at Senior level ? Great junior player at 18s.Great courage and durability standout qualities.Always thought if the application was there and improvement in fitness could turn into a very good A grade midfielder IMO.

Would agree with your take on the game. Yarra very lucky and probally did not deserve to win this one and we played the worst football in the 2nd and 3rd quaters of the year. Coburg deserve praise for there effort and commitment as they where very undermaned but just goes to show how much can be achiveved with desire and commitment and full credit to Coburg.

We used our get out of jail card for the season and are lucky to still be in the race for that 5 spot. Never the less a win is a win for Yarra, and loss is a loss for Lavo which was expected. The gap shortens to 4 points and its still game on for 5th spot and a finals campaign.

Lavo are still in the drivers seat and will admit that and Yarra would need to improve on last weeks performance dramaticly to have any chance of upseting Albanvale.

In saying that we know we are a capable side when we play with desire and dedication and will be looking for a big improvement as a team and i do belive we can beat Albanvale this week.

Greeny is a good footballer and will be a good player at senior level in years to come as he body matures. Has been hamperd by an injury this season and is hard at it runs well and genreally uses the ball well.

With a good pre season and 100 percent fit he will be one of Yarrvilles starting midfielders.

lavo beaten by the better team on the day NF, i know a few bloods use this forum, just curious on your honest opinion of the umpiring standard

just on deer park.......
robbo i think has kicked 20 odd as well.....cain we will definately have a different f/ward structure come next time we play yarra so will be interesting how you guys can handle our height/strength...the 2 boys mentioned over the last 4 or 5 games have been anywhere from the h.b.f to the f/ward pocket....micevski didnt play on the w/e as well as luke summers due to swine flu lol.....you say we have 2 good f/wards yeah maybe when we played you last time we have 5 quality ones now......what a joke the term ''swine'' has become.......worse than all the m.jackson jokes i recieved on friday....anyway.....

didnt go to the footy on the w/e and was interested to hear on the wrfl radio show that the spearhead from braybrook has been cleared to play at albion.........massive loss 4 the brookers......

and to the yarra boys.......now that your in div 2 let it be known coburg are always very hard to beat on there dung hill........

deer park nth sunshine this week........mmmmmmm ''might'' be able to grab 3rd spot......

can seriously say he is over the ribs..........he was in quarantine as with bosko misevski due to swine flue........they work together......:thumbsu:

and just having a quick look at the ladder deer park will remain 4th as will the teams ahead of us will stay the same yarra and lavo could swap all the rest can try n shape the 5........

deer parks run home

nth sunshine......w
yarra.......50/50
albanvale.......50/50
coburg.......80/20
nth foots....50/50
lavo.......70/30

pretty tough but saying we beat nth sunshine yarra coburg and lavo.......win 1 of the albanvale or nth games there is a chance of going into top 3.........

was a good game choofa your boys are getting better every time we play them and thats a credit to your club.

Umpiring standard wasn't great.. there were a couple of bad calls that went against you but one thing that they were paying all day was first man into the contest got the free. the down side to that was even if you went it for a standard tackle or bump you were done for too high or holding the man..

thought that AJ had a very good game. strong hands all day. number 2 had gave you all your run out back and you looked strong going forward. would of been nice to see a few more boys in the rooms afterwards to have a beer with tho choof.

as for us we tried a few different things that we haven't done all year, some worked some didn't but were obviously happy with the result. good luck for the rest of the year and that race for 5th spot :thumbsu:

good assessment mint, spose when u r on the losing side u tend to pay more attention to decisions

as for the after match drinks, couldnt make it myself as had a prior engagement, but know the lavo coach brings it to the attention of players to at least get in and buy one drink, did hear a few grumblings during the day from spectators and ressie players about the $4 cans, not sure if that was the reason why . nice home made chicken and vege soup and sth melbourne look alike dimmies from the canteen tho

Hey Evo,

I snuck over and only saw the first quarter of you blokes vs Cobra's and it seemed you blokes started really well "Looked Quick" and i was amazed to get the final score later that night..!! What Happend..!!

Did you lose a few to injury or were the Cobra's just up and about..??

I agree with that. The umpiring was bad on things like high contact, in the back and holding the man. I thought they gave too many free kicks and it ruined the flow of the game. Having said that I think they were bad both ways and if they're going to be bad you at least hope they are consistent in their decisions and I think they were. Laverton probably gave away more free quicks in front of the goals which may have looked bad, but the way they were umpring, the kicks were probably there.

AJ was sensational all day, and was my best on ground by a pretty long way. Who did you think was BOG for the Roosters Mint? I thought it was a very good team effort and sorry for the description, but i thought the small asian lad off half-back stood up when it counted, read the play well and ran the lines hard and caused a lot of damage for North.

Looking at the draw, I think its going to come down to the Laverton Vs Yarraville match for 5th spot, after Yarra's win on the weekend provided they get the job done before that. Should be an exciting finish to the season.
