WRFL Div. 2 Season 2008 and Beyond

North Footscray do have the best under 18's in Division 2 to get into A grade was a fair effort from them.

It was a good effort but unfortunately if you are not an Altona or Spotswood, you tend to lack depth in junior numbers. Injuries hit and confidence dropped after a few losses and it was difficult to regain momentum. The boys started quite well and only finished last after being knocked off by Port Colts in the last game. The coach CJ has done a fantastic job over the past few years.

just because there 18s are in the A's..
doesnt make them any better than any of the top B's sides..

Just look at Wyndhamvale, had a fairly good side in Under 18 A and plenty of young guns but now that club is on the border of folding.

Officially now final nails in the coffin for Gladstone Park & Brunswick Power - was ratified at tonights WRFL COM that both clubs are suspended due to being unfinancial and that the Draft Draw released in December will now become the official draw for season 2008.

Good old Gladdy played it out to the end - giving the League a cheque on 8 Feb to clear debts - only problem being that the cheque bounced !!

Good to see Gladstone Park and Brunswick Power gone. TBH they really just caused nothing but problems from Day One, never really amounted to anything in the football scene and it makes for a better competition not having so many thrashings.

It's a bit sad that someone of Chicken's ability won't stay in Div 1 but there are people that just don't want to play in that higher grade.
Good luck to him. Hopefully west and the other clubs find the players they need to have teams.

secondly where the hell would north sunshine get the cash to pay for chickey and all his mates???

North sunshine wont pay out big money again, learned there lesson when they won the flag and got stuck in first divvy with no money and club on the brink of folding.
