WRFL Div. 2 Season 2008 and Beyond

Do people think Western Magpies will beat Braybrook this week?

before the season we beat them in a praccy plus we also have Wellsy making his return this week, we would have to go in as favourites i would think.

It will be a close game no matter what i would think. it is a MUST win situation for both clubs to try and fight for that 5th spot.

At the moment you have Coburg W.Magpies Braybrook and Parkside all trying to sneak into the finals... anyone care to share their thoughts on who will sneak in and why ?

is the rhodes that has been in the best 4 braybrook the same rhodes who was a gun junior and constant club hopper spending some time at albion/wests/portcolts etc.....

Yeap thats him. He played at Albion and Wests but not sure about Colts.

Played at colts a few years ago - not sure if he cracked it in the seniors but i played against him a few times in the magoos.

More than handy footballer and top bloke too.

I believe #17 is Tyrone Kelso a few years ago did a couple of Pre seasons with Port in the VFL apparently he kicked 50 odd goals last year for the Magpies but had glanduler fever at the start of the year very strong over head mark an has a huge kick as for Kenna the young bloke is a champion on and off the field. cheers boys

Heights over Parkside - 36 pts
Western Magpies over Braybrook - 12 pts
Nth Sunshine over Wyndhamvale - 60 pts

hey red devil/decka can either of you tell us a bit about richardson, noticed he has been in the best the last couple of weeks wot happened with him in div 1? he would be a handy wingman/onballer? i briefly remember him playing interleague a couple of years ago in the 18s. i think from memory he had just moved across to sunshine as he had finished a preseason with werribee??? and was told to go 2 a div 1 club dont know how he ended up with the eagles. he did play juniors with u guys didnt he? if so its great to let youngsters go and try their luck at div 1 or higher levels and then return to their roots ala the nicolaides boys and m caruana with us

Not trying to speak out of turn but the Cobra's had a lot to play for on the weekend. The sudden death of a "larger than life" character of the club passed away on Thursday night. I have no doubt that as a mark of respect the boys railled in his memory.

Thats true, they played very disciplined football, backline stood tall and were not taking any back steps.

He is Nathan Richardson. Has retuned to the Devils after a few years at Sunshine and Yarraville in div 1. He went to Yarraville after Sunshine as his father is involved within the coaching staff there. He is a very talented player and the boys at the club are glad to have him back. He played a great game on the weekend and will only get better. I agree with what you posted, sometimes you have to let them go on good terms and hope that one day in the future they return in the same way.
