so u reckn its fine that the wrfl let these 2 new clubs not pay the fees for the first year. in 2011 when caroline springs entered a senior team in they had to pay full fare the league refused to give any discounts now these two clubs use that money to buy players from other clubs even paying well should i say are offering u18 players coin.

Might have something to do with the league desperately needing a 3rd division, and will do anything to achieve it.

A fee reduction would be ok shouldnt be offering kids money. Glenorden well great for the club now but what happens when the likes of Nick go and so do the players all the young blokes being overlooked no good for the future.(Shortsighted)

Will not know until probably Round 5 but the club could not have done it any better its a pretty good place to go and have a kick at i think that will keep people at the club in the long run
No , What will keep people at Manor Lakes is coin the same way you got them good call to only pay them after round 6 because when you cant clearance window closed anyway. Hope your U/18's develop quick because when the Senior Coach goes so will 15 just ask Trentham then what????

I think Glenorden are wanting to win this flag & head on up to Div 1. Nick will sign on for many years to come.

Why will the senior coach go?

He lives not far from Manor Lakes he got a coaching role he wanted and has most of his mates down there which are also local

Caroline Springs have had 8 years of collecting junior registrations,
So should have been in a better position to field a senior team, than Sanctuary Lakes and
Manor Lakes starting from scratch. Manor Lakes didn't have a senior team in there plans, but
Receiving so much interest from locals playing else where.

Maybe the WRFL should realise how hard it will be to get senior sides up from scratch.

Caroline springs have a larger untapped area, and they struggled!

Sanctuary Lakes won't get up, without special dispensation where they won't have to field a reserves side.

Laverton in trouble.

So as far as I can see, division 3 is needed, but do it properly so these clubs can build a base of juniors before trying to find players that don't exist.

Last time I checked, not too many clubs with people missing out on a game of footy every week.

He'll last as long as they have dosh. One of their key full forwards is playing there after signing for this season with another club.

Tells abut about the culture that Manor Lakes are gunna accept!

Might change there name from the storm to the mercenaries ...

Who keeps feeding you this crap about local his mates all went for coin not because they live close not because they are mates $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$. Round 6 lets see then if Storm can pay. Then you will see the loyalty. As far as why coaches go easy more money elsewhere the same reason most Senior coaches coach.

No way Glenorden will go back up to Division 1 even if they win this years Flag. Will be in Division 2 for few years yet i think regardless of winning the flag or not, Being in Divvy one hurt them as it would have Sunshine Heights. Other then Parkside a few years ago i dont think there would have been a club in the last few years that has come down that would have wanted to go straight back up. Look at Altona and Deer Park won Divvy 2 flags didnt go up built on that and are now stable in Divvy 1, Altona already winning Divvy 1 Flag, Deer Park altough spending alot of coin look to be set in Divvy 1 for years to come now. I doubt Sunshine Heights are looking to go straight back up even if they did have a fair chance of winning ot this year.

You'll see. :)

I say it's fine. First season in the competition, I would be happy for them to make finals even with the non season fee payment.
As for rumours etc. Damian Yze, brother of Adem Yze has signed at Glenorden.
Also hearing the ex demon Yze will also follow his brother & sign a 10 game contract, VFL & AFL commitments only allowing him to play 10 games then finals.
Massive coup for the league I'd say.

It's massive coup for Glen Orden. If they continue to sign as they have and dominate the competition, how is that good for the league? Big name signings are only good for the whole league when most clubs have been able sign one or two of them. As for league spruking about how these players want to play in our league (if that's what you're referring to), we all know it's the coin and not the competition which dictates whether they sign or not. These blokes will lift the standard of footy played at Glen Orden, not the teams they are pumping by 20 goals.

It will generate bigger crowds yes probably only for the Weribee area however it still is a good sign of things to come, coin or not. Good on em for signing these players.

Commo has a big say in what direction the club heads in. He has been fairly solid on the fact that Glenorden are not a Div 1 club. This may change down the track but if they did win it this year I would expect them to stay in Div 2 (at least for a few more years).
Agreed, only time will tell though. I believe that if things do go to plan for their club they should opt to go up.

Can assure you that none of these players are coming to Glenorden to play for money, family, mates and to play with a great club.

I agree, well done to the club for finding the coin and signing the players, good business. As for the crowds, they'll only be at one game per weekend and then probably won't turn up when Orden are playing struggling clubs away. Massive blowouts tend to overshadow big names when it comes to the perception of any league.

Mates and great clubs don't pay the bills. I'd like to think as you do but in this day and age, when you go out hunting for known talent, promising great Thursday night meals with their mates won't get you much.

I would rather watch Mooney, Yze tear it up than any other game in this division tbh.

Mates & Great clubs give you the times = PREMIERSHIPS. I have a few back in my time.
To get to the stage of winning premierships and being a great club a fair amount of investment needs to go into your junior program and senior payments. Orden's juniors haven't set the world alight and by the look of things, they've been busy over the summer bolstering their senior ranks. IMO, our clubs in Div 2 although good clubs, are not great clubs regardless of what the club diehards say. So the drawing power is not there and the way to get it is to offer very good money. Can't escape it.

As for Mooney and Yze tearing it up? Yeah, you may be right but if Mooney plays a handful, the crowds will be good for those games and they'll drop of for the others. hate to say it but most club supporters/barrackers are fair weather supporters. Heaps at home, not a great deal away. Happens in Div 1 with clubs like Colts, Spotty, Hoppers etc.

You hear the same line about D.Yze from every club he signs with over the years, and that has been many, many clubs. He is a mercenary that plays for money, pure and simple (with the added bonus of dragging his brother along to any club that he ends up at).
