Nothing of the sort in the senior game this year. GO are trying but 18's can be a different kettle of fish. Most clubs struggle with discipline when it comes to the 18's. A few are young blokes who just want to make a name for themselves and don't understand the impact it has on the club as a whole. Newport Power are finding that out now.

Nah it wasn't the seniors, the coach has given them strict instructions. Heard pretty early on Saturday that it was the 18's.

Jeez that don't sound good? Also heard 3rd division will happen next year just hope WRFL inform clubs the criteria , like edfl didYes. very cowardly to eye gouge a player and then when you get your lights punched out make a report to the league

Whisper has it that police will be involved and from both clubs perspective, a real concern that a WRFL executive member was actually umpiring this game. This could have very serious ramifications for both clubs I would be assuming.

If 3 rd division comes in, I wonder if they will allow a club to have a team in 2 divisions ?
As in 2nd div seniors & reserves & a team in Div 3 ?
We have up to a team missing out every week & guys wanting to cross over next year.( unofficially of course lol )
Yeah, it was u/18s. I was there, a flying headbutt at half time from a Glenorden player knocked out a West guy and he got 6 stitches. There was a couple of fights in the first quarter, then after the headbut at halftime, the brawl went for about 10 minutes and the umpires rightly called it off. Scores were level at the time. I hear Glenordan have kicked the guy out of the club.Are you talking about there u/18s game? Got called off just after half time maybe Rooster 44 can comment.Also heard on weekend WRFL investigating Heights v Lavo game involving some cowardly acts behind play

Add to that tarneit titans which are coming into the league... Possibility of Williams landing... And I know the league are chasing werribee districts (they won't come across unless they are put in divvy 1) and that's still not assured they will come across.... They are also putting the heat on pt cook and westbourne to come across as they both have their juniors in the league... Heard rumours of Melton bloods but they won't because of netball club, and rumour only is they are going to ask Keillor and Taylor's lakes... So say for arguments sake they only got 2 or 3 of them teams it would certainly boost the push for 3 divvys...also heard the league has told Newport power they have to re-birth the senior club or risk them not having their juniors, but you couldn't turn away a junior club surely? Wonder if they would ask Williamstown cyms also? Thoughts??

If the comp did go to 3 divisions, is there any chance Newport Power would field a senior side? I used to live in the area when West Newport and Newport Central were around. It'd be good to see a senior footy club back up and running in the area.

The Power would want to address and fix the discipline issue with the 18's before they even entertain thought of fielding a senior side.

One of my mates is organising it haz... Saw similar rumblings that we had with ml... Few handy players were talking about going there... The ground is ready to go now so will be interesting... As apart from the 15 or so that I know are keen to go there don't know where the rest would come from...

I personaly wouldnt want to see a Div 3, My club West Footscray wouldn't want to go down as some other clubs wouldnt. With some standout teams in div 2 Atm it shows the lower clubs a standard they have to get to On/Off the field. Div 3 wouldnt help these teams if better players did leave
