WRFL Division 2 - 2013

Is there any truth in what i was told yesterday,
Caroline springs in talks with essendon league.

Surely the league is abit worried with all teams that are "talking"
About leaving the competetion
Caroline springs, whyndam vale, manor lakes, port colts all to have apparently spoken to other leagues
Dare say none of the division 2 clubs will leave but port colts leaving makes the div2 and div3 grades even more boring next season
Going to be fun playing the same team 4 times
Said no player ever

Don't be to sure Calder if evo is on here he might be able to shed some more light on this story but I have good connections from people high up in the barwon comp who run all the Geelong leagues that Wyndham vale are in there finals stages of a 5 year attemp to join the Geelong league and that they could be there next year

Evo would be the new mayor of Geelong

Care to make a bet? You name the odds, if you think Orden is fav...I'll give ya even money. Haha
Would love to know how bad kennedy has broken his hand, and i just might take you up on that bet before the match, just make sure you bring the cash, I would hate for you to owe me.. We know what happened last time.. took a while but in the end you paid.

Run down on both games.
parkside started poorly and wasted about 15 mins with the breeze, w/vale just couldnt score into it but attacked hard. then parks kicked 5 in 10 mins which i thought made it about even, second qrt saw parks do most of the attacking and not goal while w/vale kicked 3 with it, 17 points at half time flattered wvale as they looked to be out played and just a little intimidated by the size and aggression of parkside. in the third parks took over grigg up forward shaw, barbuto and number 10 dominating then wvale lost the plot, tried to fight and looked to lose that to, thats when i left game over and i believe season over for wvale.
west won the toss kicked with a slight breeze, goal for goal in the first things seemed to be pretty even. in the second the ordens small fleet took control of the match while the bigger bodies of west were being thrown around pushing the laws of the game to the limit, but not outside the laws. half time saw a 5 goal lead to my boys. in the third orden kicked the first and the game seemed over, then stood up toby bray must have won the next 6 centre clearances and turned the game on its head, sammy young was on fire and the 2 uze boys started kicking goals, 3 qrt time we lead by about 2 goals but the bigger stronger bodies of west had looked to wear our young boys down and in the end ran over us by a couple of goals.
after watching both games i cant see wvale even trying hard enough to beat west next week, they looked to have rolled over that badly on sat that they dont really want to play parks again,
west v parks in the granny and who knows, last time west were in a gf they won it, the last 5 or 6 parks were in..well you all know the rest.

Saw both games on the weekend

Parkside v Wyndhamvale

Pretty windy day down at tarneit my first trip to the ground thought it is decent size and in reasonable nick however clubrooms are tiny there was a pretty poor atmosphere and not a huge turnout..... Parkside started extremely well kicking goals early and dominating the majority of possession and having the slight better in the clearances Buttigieg had plenty of it. Falcons made a game of it in the second fighting back with the wind graham started to get involved along with nyawela and went into the main break with a bit of belief 3 goals down. After that it was all parkside absolutely dismantled the falcons in a ruthless display their defensive set ups where impenetrable as the falcons couldn't find a way through and were hurt time and time again on the turnover. Oshea never really had a sniff as the falcons entries were rushed and often sloppy. 38 scoring shots to 15 tells the story falcons got a serious reality check of how far off the flag favourites they are. Buttigieg was good and used it well but barbuto intercepted the falcons attacks and drove parkside forward and was clearly best afield.

West Footscray v glenorden

Hard tough game of finals footy today both teams had a red hot crack all day and in the end went right down to the wire. To the roosters credit they looked out of it at ht when the hawks played them off the park in the second as they lead by 5 goals at the main break. After ht it was a different story and wests ran away with it kicking 9 goals to 3. Wests forward line was the difference bags to the yze boys & Lindsay ordens back 6 had a tough time of it all day. Thought d. Yze was brilliant all day kicking 5 trowsdale got plenty of it but bray for me was best on tough inside player who won it in tight stopping the supply to ordens pacey types like McDonald & Crea who both had quiet days.

Glenorden (summary)
All in all great year for the hawks they will be disappointed not to have won a final but many thought they would be in a relegation battle so proved a lot of doubters wrong. Found some good young players who look to be developing into mature senior footballers in Crea and McDonald, Zangari had a good year as did stornebrook. If they can keep this team together and get a couple of quality ins down back and maybe 1 gun onballer could easily see them winning a flag in 2015. Overall definitely a pass for me they may be the only team to knock off parkside all year and they where flying for the first 12 round, daly can't be overly disappointed at the season that was.

Was a great comeback to say the least.
Injuries to key players before half time.
Down by 35 5mins into the third quarter..
To come home strong!
Massive kudos to all coaching staff for a few massive role changes in the rooms at half time.
2 defenders moving to both half forwards & ooze in the guts.
Proved a masterstroke. On ya fellas!!!!
Next up... The Falcons of Wyndhamvale.
Then fingers crossed for a showing at the big dance..

Sounds like Parkside will be hard to beat in the GF. Whoever makes it. Don't write WV off completely though they went alright against Parks earlier in the year and we know about Parkside in GFs

Didn't expect West to get up after a couple of blokes on here smashed them saying they were too old and slow. Well done.

Beautiful thing about footy, never over til that final siren sounds.
This week will be tough, Wyndhamvale will be favourites to make a grand final appearance so pressure will be at an all time high come Saturday.
West have a couple injury concerns which hopefully come good..
West have gone from winning 4 matches last season to playing in a Prelim final..
Kudos to everyone involved.

Just a quick tip for tomorrow think the falcons will be too good big step up for west who's back half of the year has been excellent on the back of a favourable draw and playing some great footy. Wests rely on dominance in the centre through Kennedy and yze bagging a few down forward if yze can kick 5 they can give it a shake but Wyndhamvale go in as deservedly pretty short favourites all the best to both teams!
Falcons by 4 goals to much class and spread on the outside (Oshea to bounce back and kick a few)

Not counting the chickens bloke..
Just pleased to be there!!!
Anything else is a bonus..
Come on west!!!

How are these blokes? Carry on all year, West won't win a final, bunch of nuffy misfits etc. now they've won two finals, the best you've got is to tell GSW not to get too far ahead of himself?
Spare us your rubbish and giving us nothing and stick to the division 3 forum where your club is. Blokes on this forum make predictions and never revisit them for us to see how good they actually are.

Parkside go in huge favourites next week, but they've got a history of going in to Grannies as hot favourites. It should be a cracker next week!

Wouldn't say that... A few of those years everyone else was playing for also rans

Glenorden last year Deer park also were unbackable faves.... No shame in losing to sides like that

Where are these blokes who were giving their rubbish opinion of "too old, too slow, too much ego, too much space cadet" WHERE ARE YOU?

Where's your comeback you hacks?

Well done West. WV looked flat all day, last week looked to have taken a toll on them.

Parkside favourites, but anything can happen on GF day.
