Would hate to see a quality young player who played all his juniors at Orden and played 18 senior games this season dropped for 2 players that will most likely never play for the club again after this season and have a combined 10 games (and a few signed reserves team sheets) between them!!

If the changes above are correct its a terrible call and will look worse if they lose.

Totally agree with you. If its true that guys got dropped for players who signed team sheets and didn't even play the wrfl should investigate! If I were Parkside I wouldn't be happy at all, and if it were my son dropped for one of these guys then I wouldn't be impressed at all glen Orden should have no excuses now and with this "star lineup" should win by a mountain

With damien yze and Kent up forward who takes Adam yze? Surely he wi have a day out on Chirnside

Hahahaha...... Been lucky enough to see a few GO games this year. Of the blokes that have been dropped I think 1 could consider himself stiff as you said. The others have had next to NO impact in the games I've watched. One of my mates was actually happy that 1 of the 4 got dropped. Couldn't happen to a nicer bloke he reckons!

I'd like to lock in C Eddie
Metcher "not a fan around the seniors players" maybe during the game they should bag there team mates a little quiter so people over the fence can't hear.
Also find it funny that agaisnt ML in the final, Metcher said on multiple times to one certain player "unknown who" that have fun playing in 2 weeks.
Maybe they can stand next to each other on the sidelines haha

Qualifying for finals is the minimum number of games. I can confirm that both players wish they could have played all year but due to work commitments obviously couldn't & didn't. However for every game they signed the sheet they played every time, except ONCE Adem Yze was feeling under the weather, signed team sheet, played til 20min mark 2nd quater until he was chucking up his guts, was sent home.

For the players who were dropped, yes I feel for them being in the side and get dropped come the big dance. However one of them was a reserve player this season through injury (Shmidt), Magnabosco was injured often & fell out of favour, Beaustock contantly tried his heart out, in & out the side however with bigger bodies struggled often & Metcher was out of the side for a while then kicked a bag vs Sunny heights to regain his spot however, his attitude was very poor, often negative & a team is based around POSITIVE & CONSTRUCTIVE critism. (haha & the irony on that comment to a ML player, I too heard that). So joejoe if you were a parent on one of the players dropped what would you do or tell them to do? There is a couple ways, drop your bundle, leave the club & have a sook OR head up, be strong, be there for the boys, then have an even bigger pre season & come out all guns blazing next season.

In all of this no one has said they feel for the head coach Nick Diker. He would have hated doing that to the 4 lads & I know for a fact he was stressed all week because of it.

People are also forgetting that GOFC this season was based around ONE TEAM - ONE DREAM.
Meaning even the 4 whom miss out, plus a couple of injury filled reserves players who helped through the year we want to achieve the very best as a TEAM.
And that DREAM can come alive come Sunday round 5:10pm.
And in order for that to happen its our best team on paper, so now go out and do the rest on the paddock.

ONE TEAM - ONE DREAM.

LET'S DO THIS.

Bring on Sunday!

May the best team win...

2 issues highlighted on your comments.

Beau played 18 senior games. I would hardly call that In and Out of the side.

Also why would we feel sorry for the coach, it was his decision. If he really hated doing it he wouldnt have done it and just played the kids. If you win it I hope Kingsley and Yze front up and do the hard yards in DIV 1.

In & out of the side was taken out of context. Meaning more of an impact type player. 5min spurts etc.. Once dropped & came back in because of injuries.
And obviously no one wants to be placed in a position like that, some may say it is a good headache to have but end of it all you want to have your best team on paper. And for the FIRST & VERY FIRST time this season, GOFC have their best team on paper, remarkably in a granny! Bring on Parkside. End of.

Stiff is an understatement in this case GSW.

done a bit of sniffing around, and the last time bostock wasn't in the senior team was... surprise surprise, parkside at heathdale oval. we all know what happened that game. im not saying that the "all conquering" Glen orden is greater than one player, but there is very few that show attack at the ball and heart in the contest than this guy.

and I agree with GBF50, will these players that have fronted up over the last 2 years at G.O be around when the shit royally hits the fan and the hawks are back to where they were 4-5 years ago? especially with half their mates coming into the comp next year (Werribee Districts).

don't want to be the guy with all the clichés, but footy's a funny game and anything can happen especially in a granny.

Watched the Glenorden v Manor Lakes and the Parkside v Manor Lakes games in the past fortnight and was very disappointed with the standard. On what i saw of the games those teams would struggle in 1st div next season. I really dont know what the league is going to do next season about promotion but whoever gets promoted will virtually need a new side just to be competitive

With all due respect GSW, you'd be hard pressed to find many who would feel for the head coach in this situation. The coach would have been the main advocate of bringing A Yze and Kingsley to club knowing full well they were not going to play most games and would merely qualify. He would also have been comfortable with the fact that should GO make the GF, blokes who could have played more games would make way for them. Nah, no sympathy for Nick. From all accounts, great bloke, good coach but I doubt he hated what he had to do on Thursday night.
The One Team On Dream motto is a good one but its a very hard sell to blokes who have missed out for players who have qualified just to play on the big day. In the end, Yze could take his goldy off and put it on Bostock for example but it will mean nothing.
After all that, GO has done well to work it and get these players qualified. Credit where credit is due.

At the end of the day. none of this matters of who misses out and who plays if Glen Orden win.

If they win, their decision will be proven correct.

If they lose, then its open for discussion - but if Adem Yze and Hunter have blinders and they still lose, then what is the discussion? that the rest choked?

For what it is worth, Parkside struggled at Chirnside, and I think Glen Orden will get hold of them, and it will be a sizable blow out.

GO - 60+

Exactly this bostock bloke will get nothing! But the question is what would you do? Play the 22 guys that have been at the club all year who probably would of still won the flag easy or being in these 2 guys who haven't played footy together but as ex afl players makes the margin jump from what probably would of been 3-4 goal to what should be 10+ and drop guys ? Where do you draw the line?

The "what ifs" game can go on forever. As a coach, you live and die by your decisions. GO were in a hurry to turn on field and off field issues around so they went the big guns. What this means for the future of the club is anybodies guess. I hope it works for them long term.
As for me, I wouldn't bother bringing in ex afl blokes that can only half commit. IMO slogans mean nothing unless all involved live it on and off the ground. My opinion counts for shit anyway,I'm not involved anywhere. :p

Some pretty interesting players named in the team of the year.
I'll name the biggest joke, Kavnagh from CS on the back flank.
It is always the case with TOTY players picked out of position,Parks and Glenordan Will Not be going up,both have told WRFL ,that leaves Werrribee taking Nth Footscray position will be interesting with Divi 3 coming in with the Sharks telling Bob they will pull the pin in regards to senior side stay tuned

Both Parks and GO have told the WRFL they don't want to go up? All the talk about Parks being desperate to be back in Div 1 was bullshtine? We all knew GO wouldn't want to go up so no surprises there. Was Diker signed for another couple of years to be a Div2 coach only? Are they hoping that the Werribee South connection can part with a bit more cabbage to build a Div 1 list over another couple of years?
Both Parks and GO need to take a leaf out of Yarraville's book. Went up, showed they could play some good footy, inevitably had to deal with some smackings but have at least established a good base that they can build on.

Let's just enjoy this weekend, soak up the atmosphere & look forward to a great game of aussie rules footy. If they go up, they go up, if they don't, they don't.

The most important thing is WHO will Be premiers for 2013?

Tips? Write ups? Thoughts etc.

I'll leave with this one, a little hunch.

Is it true that you have two names, one for each face, but they are the same because you have trouble remembering where you are you at?
