falcons over nth footscray that will be=================it will be a tough game for the devils especially on their crapy cow paddock but with nth nearly at full strength, will get over the line by a couple==================as for deerpark ,weapons i think they will actually scrap through on 5th spot, cant see nth sunshine getting up,not too much strength there and coburg left their run too late to even consider==========so thank your teams lucky stars=====lol

much better.......lol

thank our lucky stars????? i dont think so deserve to get 5th if we get there in the end..........finals footy is what its all about and if we win 1 game like coburg did last year now that would be great...........:thumbsu:

Good evening, big footy folk.

Since there's not much going on in here, I thought I'd best post my tips for the week and see if that can help to get the ball rolling and the juices flowing - metaphorically speaking of course (what makes juices flow literally while you're logged on is none of my business and I've no wish to know about it).

Here's my tips for the antepenultimate round of the home and away season:

After all my raving on about North Sunshine's chances at making the finals, I have to go with my gut and predict that Brunswick will, in fact, snatch a hard fought victory this weekend, thus putting an end to both North's Finals hopes and my own campaign of mathematical pontificating. Power by 3 goals after leading at every change.

Albanvale will haul their wagon back on the rails with a solid win over Braybrook, only to look ahead and realise that they may very well have four weeks of Groundhog Day to look forward to before they hang up the boots for 2007: Deer Park, North Footscray, Deer Park, North Footscray.

Heights vs Coburg will be match of the round and a telling game for both teams. For Heights, it's time to step up a gear heading into the finals. For Coburg, it's a must win game. What's more, with the bye in round sixteen followed by the unpredictable yet beatable Power in seventeen a win could almost seal them a finals spot. That's a big bubble for the Heights boys to burst, but burst it they will. Yes, revenge is on the minds of many at Glengala road, salivating at the chance to end the year for the very team that ended it for the dragons in 2006. Expect a tough clash until Heights run away with a seven goal win.

West Footscray will remind Deer Park that they are only going to play finals, not actually compete in them. West by six goals... per quarter!

The Magpies will score another win against the deserving wooden-spooners and all of Laverton will come alive with excitement. By the time the celebrations are over, nobody will know whose moccos are whose.

Finally, North Footscray will trounce Wyndhamvale by upward of twelve goals. The Falcons will be no match for North's tough defensive pressure and will struggle to post a respectable score. North will use the win as a diving block and will spend the next two weeks testing the water for the finals. Will they sink or swim?

Good luck to all in round fifteen. That is all.

my tips for this week are as follows:

Brunswick to end the season of the roadrunners, im sure darryl wont be a happy coach after this weekends 5 goal loss.

Albanvale to get their form back on track with a comfortable 6-8 goal win over the brookers

Wests to smash deer park by 12 goals

The Magpies to seal second last on the ladder by beating the rabble that is gladdy Park by 7-8 goals and will prove the magpies r on the improve after their wooden spoon last year.

North footscray will beat a very disapointing wyndamvale who once again promised so much early and looked to everyone to be a defniite top 4 threat and have ended up going backwards on the ladder but their good junior program should see them recover quickly. devils by 12 goals

And last but not least the heights boys will end Coburgs gallant run at a second straight finals campaign and pay them the ultimate revenge for 2006.

Footnote:
it has been a real surprise to everybody in trying to understand y the districts havnt been playing like this all year, because if they had they would be a definite top 3 chance however to play finals the 5 most consistent teams over the entire 17 round season is rewarded with September (in our case August) action. unfortuntalty for Coburg and North Sunshione Deer Park have provided more consistency with more wins and higher % over the season and hence will play finals.

it will be an interesting first week with Deer park set to meet Albanvale in the elimination final. although albanvale r a much better side there is a rivalry between these 2 sides like probably no other and deer park would find a lot of joy in knocking out their biggest rival even if it means a thrashing the following week.

Mr Eade you d!ck what did you do with the money then if you could of purchased ten houses.

Like all heights/bulldogs supports were very confident at the start of the year but now are no where to be seen!!:D

heights supporters r still very confident in our ability to win any game, and with a full strength side in the next fortnight we r raring to go and looking to win our next 5 games

I actually purchased 10 houses! Not that it matters what I do with my takings.

As a heights SUPPORTER, I believe the guys down there are still very confident just as they were at the start of the season. Just because they not all on here singing themselves up anymore, does not mean the self-believe has gone astray.

Quick Tip: don't be fooled by my name and fall into the trap of thinking I'm a Dogs fan.

TIPS:
Nth Sunshine by 5 goals.
Albanvale by 12 goals.
West by 15 goals.
Magpies by 10 goals.
North By 7 goals.
Heights by 8 goals.

yer your footnote is probably true.......a thrashing would be nice as long as we beat the cobra's.........lol

remember all the pressure is on west and heights these 2 teams have been the standouts through out the year and will feel the pressure come the end of the year........fail to perform on the big stage and all hell will break loose.......yer you know that.........:thumbsu:coaches players supporters and commitee will be sitting back atm dreaming yes but lets be honest realy knowing what a big job thats ahead of them yet.......yes be confident but dont set expectations too high..........1 free kick 1 stupid act 1 50 mtr penalty could see plenty of sad faces........dont worry i know........

any way 3 more weeks of wrfl div 2 left for the season lets worry about that before the big stuff starts........

good luck to all on the wk-end a few upsets would be nice for all the d/p faithfull......including our game.........lol

we get there we deserve it no matter what any of you mockinbirds say.............................................................

Deer Parks form all year has been pretty average to say the least and are a minimum of 10 goals behind Heights and Wests until proven otherwise. But in saying that they have played with 6 or more players out every week since round 2.

At one stage they had 15 players from last years Grand Final side out and lack of recruiting over the summer, the lose of 6 players and a very ordinary pre-season has come back to haunt them.

What I am saying is they are just about to field the best side they have had all year this week minus a couple so a decent result against wests ( 40 point lose or less ) might just have Albanvale and North Footscray looking over their shoulders.

At full strength they are capable of knocking off both of those teams, in saying that the next 3 games will tell the story. I'm tipping Deer Park may just surprise everybody and make a prelim.

Perfect example is the dogs right now, 7 or 8 out and they are getting smashed. At full strength they are a top 8 side easily.

Can anyone tell me what happened in the game between deer park and west footscray? I heard west refused to play on it - how soft, considering their reserves played on it. Why was it good enough for the reserves but not seniors? What happens with points? Does anyone have any information about this?

What about other games? Any match reports?

I really thought Brunswick would of got up this week... I really did.
Sunshine Heights are back I see.... Does this mean the end for Coburg?
I thought the finishing score between Albanvale and Braybrook would have been a lot less...

yer dunno what happened will find out though........

dunno if the ressies played but certianly the 18 played on the ground saturday..........

now the points go to nobody just like west in round 1 it goes on match ratio.....which helps d/p out massively and almost puts an end to nth sunshine's finals chances now that cant be bad can it........lol...

i can tell you on friday night i was doing a little fitness work around the ground nothing wrong their but the main concern i have herd was the centre of the ground whilst being chopped up the last couple of weeks like most grounds due to the wet wether it had gone hard and all the footprints went hard......you just try imagine running flat out on that your gonna do your ankle and take some serious skin off if you went over on it ..........dont quote me on it this is what ive herd........

now to the other problem yer the club could have rolled it with a roller but due to ''macca'' passing away a couple of weeks ago the club hasnt found the keys yet for the container to use it....... they did ring the council to get them there during the week but every 1 knows what the brimbank council is like..........lol

I was there and very suprised they didn't play, the under 18's and reserves both played on it. I went out into the middle and had a look and it was pretty hard but i still would have played but that's just me.
I don't know which side called it off but it's very disapointing.
In saying that i don't think the Parkers can miss the finals now no matter what happens in the last 2 rounds which is good for them but their canteen and bar sales would have taken a big hit. I stuck around and had a few beers as long as i could then went off to watch Albion and Sunshine.

yeah disapointing to here west get away with that if they called it off! shit effert just using it as a excuse to rest up a few bodys at this time of the year. north footscray smashed the falcons by 20 gaols as to be expected but. thought north looked awesome on the big ground. reacken come finals on a big ground in the dry north will be very hard to beat.

Yeah good win but the Vales were woeful. Not sure what is going on down there. Plenty of ferrels though!

Thought Scott Eldridge, Ian Allan, Shylo Smith, Stuart Devlin, Hayden Phillips and Adam Pacanowski were good for North.

Dale Williams and Dean Derich to come back in next week against West Footscray.

Thommo was good as well there Warwick as well as the players you mentioned above.
Ash a few of the boys have nicknamed you the Turtle as everytime you went for a grab yesterday you seemed to duck your head, whats up with that!

You might find that the senior umpires inspected the Deer Park ground at 3/4 time of reserves and deemed the centre wicket area unsafe (like glass). One of them almost roled his ankle while walking on it. After a phone call to the league by the umpire HE made the decision to cancel the game.
18's & reserves may of played but I'm told that they were instructed not to enter the centre wicket area if at all possible.

You might also find that the result will help Deer Park secure 5th spot on match ratio having not played the game.

GO WEST

cant be too bad for both sides......a day off a couple of weeks before finals would be great for the older bodies..........hahahaha:thumbsu:

Weapons you are spot on there in relation to deer park's season. Although that may not necessarly be the best thing for West Footscray. By not playing this week their lead in to a potential GF could possibly look like this.

Rd 15 - Week Off
Rd 16 - North Footscray
Rd 17 - North Sunshine
Finals Wk 1 - Week Off
Finals Wk 2 - Sunshine Heights/Albanvale (sorry i'm writing d.p off)
Finals Wk 3 Week Off (If of course they win in Wk 2)

I know some people may prefer a run-in like this, but surely playing 3 games in 6 weeks leading into a GF could potentially be harmful.

Hey guys quick match report from the districts v heights game. Heights started the game well kicking the first goal within about 30 seconds. We fought back against the breeze to be down by 3-4 goals at quarter time. They held a 6-8 goal buffer through out the game until we kicked the last 4 goals of the 3rd to go into the last only 4 goals down.
But heights just a bit to quick and ran in numbers, just seemed to kick there goals a bit more freely than us.
Number 18 played well in the centre and the guy who played CHB also played well.

In closing guys alot of people at the start of the year picked us to finish last or second last at the end of the season. With us knocking off some of the more fancied teams during the year and districts on track to finish 6th or 7th, have we suprised the big footy community.

With the inclusion of about 10-12 new senoir players to the club, new senoir coach, how do opposition players and supporters rate us compared to last year.

Cheers Moxy

I can see your point there R.E. but west do have some older bodies that have been hurting for a while, so for west i think it may help!!! but i'm sure bones would be nailing them at training from now to the GF, if they get there!! now one should count their chickens before they are hatched remember!!!

Can any of the Dragons confirm what happened to pretty boy caruana on the weekend. I saw him limp of the ground crying like a school girl for the second time in 4 weeks. I heard it was a burst pimple on the left A$$ cheek but I was too scared to get close enough to the bench to check it out as there were about 30 - 50 feral supporters surrounding the area

Havn't really seemd to improve much this year. Turned over a fair few players so anything you picked up was just really making up for what you lost. Overall Coburg lacks pace. Apart from 11 there wasn't anybody who evenlooked like carrying the footy.

The positive is the discipline is much better than it has been. Still not great but definately better than it was. Should get rid of Shepherd. Your club will never move forward with a bloke like him playing there. Would need to pick up 4 or 5 YOUNG QUICK players to have any chance of making a challenge next year.

Mr Rob Eade, i know that you have missed me so i thought that i better post you a comment. Thankfully you are talking some sense now, it took you awhile but you finally got there. Are the boys down at the dragon den confident of making a grand final, if they do make it and dont take away the big one will they keep all their players, i see there is a few new faces from the side of 06'. Roosters are going to be very hard to beat. Might have to support the boys at glengala if they are in the big one against the roosters. you playing 1st
