Don't follow any 1 club usually just pop around to watch mates play
well mate yeah ur right we dont have the best of club rooms however u will find that alot of clubs in our league recently have gotten a nice spankin upgrade to there facilities unfortunately the area we in our council isnt to easy to get them to put a bit in toward an upgrade 1994 them rooms were built so fair to say there due..

Deano,
I believe the surface was redone a few years ago. Who plays cricket there now?? Understand the conversation is more regarding the facilities...

It's a difficult situation for council as usually they like to spend money on grounds that have juniors playing as their investment is seen as helping more of the community..
Let me give you an example: Keilor have 1 ground and a lot of juniors, so council upgraded the surface and new rooms down at Green Gully Cricket club so Keilor juniors could use the ground in footy season.. Not the best area and ground off the main road to..
Then they spent money recently on their main oval, resurface, and done small off ground works. But remember that Keilor are right next to the council offices.

I know it's maybe different councils and different situation just need to be lucky I guess..

Good luck with it but keep fighting..

yeah ground got re done a while back now I think its a indian team called brimank strikers or something like that no idea what league they are apart of.. we do have 4 junior sides but I spose to some sporting clubs around the area like burnside heights and caroline springs its not even close.. we arnt complaining to much though could be alot worse of and we are pretty happy with the way the club is looking on and off the field atm so for now we will deal with what we got

Great attitude mate, all the best. My opinion of Albanvale was they were always up against the odds but we're always competitive. Tough side but very fair.. Always seem to be thereabouts..

Who's coaching there? Is Barb ( easier to use his nickname than spell his surname) still there??

barb moved on due to family work commitments we now have john thrush as coach

Turn it up yourself Banana. No idea about Ryan Smith, although I have no doubt he'd be welcomed. Seniors went down by 8 goals today against a clearly better and much faster side. There will be lots of eyes on Tarneit when they meet Anakie in a couple of weeks.

Bush man, the scoreboard was being demonstrated by the guys trying to sell it. Looked impressive from up near the canteen. May be less cost effective than numbers hung up by U13s in return for a hot dog and coke after the game.

8 goals or 15 goals going to be a long year for old westbourne..lol when you get beat by a team in who is 3rd division geelong and expected to finish bottom 2 buts it's only a practice game. Maybe the standard of footy will make them half ok?
Really will be interesting to see how old westbourne go with their good bunch of 19s combined with some very good players who are 5 years past their prime combined with laverton/sanctuary lakes misfits.
Interesting combination and looking on with interest. Time will tell

Didn't Anakie slap Braybrook in a practice match last year? I think your being pretty rude to Anakie, they play in 2nd Div Geelong footy and are expected to improve this year from a 3rd last last year.

Didn't see the game but my mail was that Anakie would beat any 3rd div team quite easily, apparently they were very impressive.

Seem to have something against them with this. Just think how Tarneit and North Sunshine were getting beat by that much against the Albanvales and Braybrooks. Of course Suns aren't going to set the world on fire but there is going to be competition between them Tarneit and Nth Sunny.

Yeah there seems to be a couple people annoyed at the suns already can anyone tell us why?

I know zero about them what have they done to get this attitude

I agree the budget would be small but surely not under 5k or 20k but I'm an outsider so just my opinion. If your comment is true what have Albanvale done with the money as surely the turnover from functions, sponsors, bar, canteen etc would be more than the figures quoted. Have they put it back into club somewhere or saving up for something..

Club was in a very bad state financialy a few years back, had a few old boys jump on board with Jason Curmi at the helm, done a great job getting us back on track, and credit to the playing group and coach barbs at the time who stuck by the club when the times a tough, and pretty much donated there time and did not expect a cent in return.. I Know it's hard to believe our money spent on players but I promise you the figures are pretty much spot on..
I've been at the club over 15 years and so have about 20 other guys who are still involved in some way or another few guys been there from day dot.. Can't explain it but it's just one of them places that's ppl loving being at..

The main reason there was such a discrepancy between the quality of the two teams was that it was evident that one bunch of players had played together before, whereas the other team (i.e. Suns) were yet to have a hit-out together and looked like they trying to figure out how they'll go about it - give them a break. A couple more games together and they'll definitely become a lot more competitive.

Was at the game Altonabatman and yes Anakie were the better side but they would not easily beat every side in div3. Would be a good game against the Braybrook Albanvale teams of last season

Just spoke to a mate from deer park that was there and he said they would beat any team in div 3 and a couple on div 2

So time will tell won't it

Albanvales pickups are starting to look the goods.. Brooks, charenko,Redfern back, have they kept most senior players from last years granny??? If so, they would have to start favourites for 2015???
