Don’t think they are going to but I would like to see Royal Patronage nominate for the CP. Just my pocket talking as I have nothing on POJ going into the race. I think Patronage would stick a bit closer to POJ hopefully making it easier for the other horses to bridge the gap. With no other speed in the race we could see a full space at the 800m mark and it will probably be MrB who will start the train to lead them up.

Just reading about POJ having a PlanB for the CO. Ottobre is having a laugh, lol

The owner should be glad Pride of Jenni doesn't run in Europe. She wouldn't be as successful. Different level there for 1600m+ racing and that's fact too. The owner should be glad Pride Of Jenni has been as successful as she has been. I reckon even in the 1990s through to the mid 2000s she would struggle in Australia.

Reckon you can guarantee that Evaporate will be used with its light weight to do the chasing on Jenni and drag the others into the race.
Allows MrB to get a cushy run similar to last year.
That’s what they’ll be thinking. Neither of them are a chance in my view.

Not denying that. She's a good horse but her owner should be thankful she isn't running in Europe or in a stronger era of 1600m+ racing in Australia. He should be thankful what she has achieved. He should stop whinging.

I think TBF Troy was speaking to Gareth just as VS was stopped running riderless. It’s at a time that things were at a precarious point and prior to knowing there were no cuts and she’d come through unscathed.

im not sure but im going to go against Prognosis at that price. It looks like on its best day it cant beat romantic warrior, and last year first up RW got 4th in the turnball as a $2.50 fav and then only just won the cox plate by an absolute pimple.
So i might work around that. Also last couple starts shes been flopping out of the gates, Not ideal type of stuff for the Valley.
Pride of Jen looks likes shes crying out for this trip and loves the track. So 'll bet that and also a small saver on Via sastina who might lob in a good spot.

I've listened to so much nonsense this week about a potential change of tactics for POJ. Who takes her on, Does Broadsiding sit closer, does Evaporate run cover for Mr B. So exhausting.

For what its worth Royal Patronage, yes, does race on speed, but it ain't the cleanest beginner either. I think she'll be out doing her thing. The key is not who is out there making it tough for her its when are these other riders actually going to press the button and go after her.

I reckon she is cherry ripe and will be carrying mine. Could trade at a silly price.

The price difference between Evaporate and Broadsiding is too large for me given the latter will probably have map advantage over him and does have an affinity for the track

Evaporate goes forward to sit closer to POJ… she will be the tow in horse along with Royal Patronage who will cook itself. Jockeys won’t allow POJ to get as far in front as she did in QE. The extra 3 horses in the race haven’t helped her. Evaporate will be gassed trying to stay with POJ.

Prognosis will probably be sweating before the jump, then miss the kick, tail out a few lengths last and will be 3/4 wide from the 600 / 800m mark trying to run down the leaders.

Brightside who was beaten a pimple in ‘23 will use Evaporate as a bunny to then leapfrog to POJ, will have the run of the race again but the CP may just be 60m too long for it. Hopefully Broadsiding goes back then maybe it will be running on, if goes forward, same outcome as Evaporate.

Via Sistina is going to have PTSD when she see’s POJ in the parading ring. If she can somehow block her out then she knows the track like the back of her hoof and Waller only does Grand Finals. These fairytail stories is what racing is all about, Jmac 100 G1’s etc. etc.

Kovalica will be running on and sucking us into the back end of MC F4’s. Docklands finish third last
