Armies are good at a lot of things we are not ... fighting, exercising, making beds, but they can be bizarrely bad at convincing people to join them. Besides, making beds is not this generation's forte. In any future war with say China, they will disable us in a couple of days without firing a shot. They will knock out the internet and mobile networks throughout the country leaving millions absolutely helpless.
