Re: www.footyjumpers.com

My latest project, playing with my new template.

Socks are a pain for a lot of clubs, and then there's Footscray, who in VFA days had the most different jumper.
This would end up something like what Wizard describes, where all uniforms are on one page as well.
In this case, the other VFL jumpers would then follow on, with no breaks.
So University wore their uniforms from 1905, that's the date I would give them,
Then there's the whole crap fight about when the current clubs actually started.

Thoughts?

Re: www.footyjumpers.com

Sorry, I'm a bit confused. Are those all VFA kits that you are talking about including? If so, that would be awesome!!!! Would be cool to have Port's SANFL guernseys as well if you are doing this. Love your work Mero :thumbsu:

Yes, those are Footscray's VFA uniforms.
And I would be looking at doing a page like Wizard suggested, with all of them.
Port is tough though, because there's not a lot of team photos that I have access to.

PS if you right click those images, the file name tells you what year they started wearing them.

Yeah a great idea, would look awesome!!! I think someone on here (Paulie or something????) created a port SANFL jumper guide that he posted on here and the port board. You should be able to find it somewhere or else someone else could probably help you. Not sure exactly how accurate it is though

Re: www.footyjumpers.com

Also, why haven't you already put the VFA jumpers on your site if you have the resources to be able to create them??

Re: www.footyjumpers.com

How are the Grand Final jumpers going, Mero?

Can't find decent pics of all the logos.
The current one has been used for a few years now, but the early 2000s logos I only have very small versions which I can't use.

VFA. Resisted putting them on as much as anything because over the years there's been so much of a crap fight over club's starting dates.
EG North had a team called Hotham in the 1860s
But then they went out of business in 1921, trying to merge with Essendon
This fell over and a year later a brand new club formed out of what was left of North (because a lot went to Essendon) and Essendon's VFA team, who had just been kicked off Windy Hill.
They had a different Board, different jumper, msotly different players.
So is it the same North Melbourne?
North supporters would say it is.
And that's just one.

PS Appreciated PB.
PaulieG has done the WAFL jumpers. Not the SANFL.

Re: www.footyjumpers.com

Sorry PB, wasn't exactly sure who it was. That PaulieG name was a bit if a guess and would've been in my head cos of the WAFL jumpers.
Cheers Mero, now I know why :thumbsu: as usual I learn something new from every one of your posts :p

Re: www.footyjumpers.com

Found a similar 2000 GF logo (It's pretty small though), its in the bottom right corner:

The jumper version looks the same but it doesn't have the coca-cola logo:

Found this pic on a 2001 GF logo, it's not the one on the jumpers but it's similar and should be pretty easy to edit.

Re: www.footyjumpers.com

Interesting how on Akers jumper, the GF logo overlaps onto the cuffs. Weren't logos sublimated into the print of the design? Or were they a felt or plastic stick on?

I definitely think the Grand Final logo needs an overhaul. In fact, the Premiership Season motif logo might need a revision. I like the idea of conforming to a standard template, though. So the logos of the Finals Series, Grand Final, Dreamtime at the 'G, Anzac Day Game, etc., are all uniform - it's a bit of a mixed bag right now.

Re: www.footyjumpers.com

Aker's looks raised and sewn on though...
I assume they just use normal issue guernseys and just put the extra patch on. No need to get new, specific ones made up as such

Btw PB, nice sig ;) Think I might already get the #32 put onto my 2011 replica

Re: www.footyjumpers.com

What was going on with the monogram? Kinda reminds me of Newcastle's old logo.

North 1922 was formed out of the merger of the North Melbourne and Essendon VFA.
That was why they wore Navy Blue, being a mix of Black (Essendon) & Royal Blue (North)
They had to change from this jumper in 1925 when they joined the VFL to avoid a clash with Carlton.

Re: www.footyjumpers.com

hey Mero, feel free to ignore this, because it'd nit picky, but since Sydney signed with ISC the yolk on the front of the jumper has definitely got bigger and flatter (less of a 'V' in the red shape)

Your pictures still have the pre-2010 design.

Re: www.footyjumpers.com

Hey Mero,

was just looking at aflphotos.com.au and found this:

25202.jpg

http://bit.ly/9CsvNm

It is titled: "AFL 1995 Pre-Season Match Fitzroy"
and is described as
"Frank Bizzotto of Fitzroy in action during the 1995 pre-season AFL match"

Not sure whether this is a proper preseason game or not. May just be an internal trial looking at that photo. You might want to work this out, cos if it is a proper preseason guernsey, it needs to be included in your website.
:thumbsu:

EDIT: also not sure if you saw what I posted about the freo heritage guernseys on one of the threads (2012 jumper suggestions??). I'll see if I can quote it
