XFL has a really good rule.
Theres already a sky judge, so teams get one challenge flag all game.
They can only use this challenge if they have a timeout avalable.
The thing is, this challenge allows you to challenge ANYTHING, including all unchallengable things, doesnt even have to be challenging a call made, but if you felt like something should have been called, a hold, PI, you can.
If you get it right you get to keep the challenge and the timeout

It's a slippery slope.

The whole reason the SB holding call was such an abject disgrace is that, if you want to look closely, you'll find holds on every single play. At least, every single passing play, and most run plays.

So you could challenge non-calls on literally any play of the game and find something.

As XFL had already shown tho, it's such an important challenge, coaches keep it in pocket for a critical moment late in the game.

Thursday night football with the xfl. Not sure it's needed in week 2 with only 4 games a week.

I hope it's a better product than Amazon.....
Yeah the double-header format over two days is so much better. Hopefully they go back to that asap

Schedule might be just as much to do with when they can get access to the stadium.

The fear being the league losing money or trying to stave off ending prematurely by removing top salaried execs who they can "do without". Hence the reply that the rumor is false, no other execs are being fired and none of it is financially motivated.

The league is fine losing money right now. Thats why they signed a 5 year deal with Disney [rumored to be 25-30M a season] where as the 2020 season the TV deal they had with ESPN/Fox was 2 years with only the production costs covered.

I'd be worried if the league was in financial jeopardy after week 1!
the AAF did that. and thats why the USFL only play in 1 place.
