Geez bad luck is it time for you to get back on here and bag Gembrook again is it?

Haven't heard from you all year - must be time to sink the boots in. You must be a miserable person. Can't you see good anywhere. Looking back at your previous posts - Gembrook must have really done something to upset you? What would that have been? Seriously what have they done to you that has upset you so much?

What a great year by the Gembrook boys in making the grand final. Well done.

Pisses me right off when people come out of the wood work and make stupid comments and assumptions about selections on sides after the result. The brookas picked a side and the players that were not selected supported the club and the side all week with the decision.l am proud to be associated with these boys and call them my mates. The whole of the Gemrook playing list over the last couple of years can be and should be very proud in the way they have committed to the cause.Well done on a great finals series.Congrats to Woori on there win.The Gembrook football/netball club will only get stronger with the unselfish attitude of these boys.Well done to Trav and the coaching staff and committee.Go Brookas, bring on 2011.:thumbsu::thumbsu::thumbsu:

Talking with the Brooker boys after their semi final win, they indicated that the 3 of their key players (including the captain!) would be available for selection in the GF after returning from injury. That meant Travis and his staff were in that unfortunate position that often happens when picking a GF side - who has to miss out.

Humper normally what you say on here is reasonably right but this comment sounds a little biased. Would love to see this on a replay i dont know if the reserves even get a dvd of the game but from my point of view which is also a little biased the warburton player reacted when the waterboy stood in b/w two players who were arguing no real contact was made, warburton player then looked to start throwing punches??? i was on the other side of the ground but the umpires set a precedent and also yellow carded a monbulk player for throwing a punch which missed by a goalsquare, games over dont think it affected the outcome warburton one player short, monbulk thirsty, best team won on the day.

The point is there is no disadvantage to the waterboys side. The umpire saw what the waterboy did and he didnt just quietly stand there and give a player a drink as you make out. Ive never scene anything more ridiculous than sending a waterboy off and a player. Do you understand what sort of ramifacations that can have in up coming games? Simple commen sence should prevail and that unfortunatly didnt happen which may or may not have affected the outcome.

The umpires set the standard at the start of the game with a yellow card early.. The decision with the water boy.. wasn't setting the standard but already following the card earlier.

For a brief moment you had me fooled that you actually saw what happened or at the least had heard what had happened. But dont you let facts ruin your story.

Not fooling... just my view... did the warby player who was sent off strike or doing anything & did the waterboy do anything?

Your a goose mate. It didn't cost you the game. Just chill. Look forward to cricket season.

As you know though the person who retalliates gets caught most of the time.... But in saying so... It ended up close like all of the games... At least no one was hurt!

Both were caught only one team payed a price. I would of thought it sets a very nasty precedent that could be used in future games.

Like i said mate i was a fair way away but the water boy definately wasnt throwing punches may have initiated slight contact but thats always happened bit of banter in games you especially should know that mate. Look at it outside of the square monbulk players turn around and see a warby bloke striking the normally quiet and humble club legend armin richter and then bang its on blokes get hurt game gets ruined. Umpire dealt with the situation reasonably well maybe a talking too could have been enough but its a grand final which in general is a normally emotive game and at the time there seemed to be alot of players getting over to that area pretty quickly. Overall the game was umpired really well i thought, shi* i almost sound a little gary wragg like, my apologies.

So what your saying is that if Monbulk play in finals next year. Youd be happy for the oppistion to send waterboys out to Monbulk players and rough them up? By the way it was a fair bit more than slight contact.

Whether the water boy is a club legend or not thats not the point. I don't think Humpa is saying it was a pre-meditated incident, it's not even an attack at the water boy or monbulk in that case. It is the way the situation was handeled sending off a player. A very severe penalty.

On another note off topic now, why oh why do we play sunday grand finals. I know the EFL div 1 granny is on saturday but this is the biggest day of the year for the league and the teams involved. I didnt have a problem with it initially but now i have been involved on the day I don't like it nor all other players and spectators that i have spoken to. Needs to be changed back to Saturday even at the sacrifice of a few spectators going to watch EFL.

I Agree I was saying this last year on here & still havent changed my mind. A reveiw after 2 years is fair & reasonable. Many of the things the league officials have tried have been good (as outlined previously) but this is not one of them - I will do another post

SUNDAY GF

For me I am still going to agree to disagree with the League folks, for me & the people I know the reasons dont stack up
1. 7 day break - only Upwey really cried about this because they had lost a couple granny's off this. If players at this level need 7 day break move the 2nd Divi Granny to Sunday
2. People I have spoken to: Football followers, supporters , friends, family, work colleagues all dont undertsand it. This is from Balwyn to Bendigo. They were coming to watch Monbulk, Warby, Gembrook, a specific player etc. Saturday is when they would prefer to do this.
3. Clubs have noted because it takes away from Bar Takings being a sunday night. No matter how much the league does not want to be scene to promote drinking - alcohol, food, softdrink etc is the life blood of these clubs. The good sports program is there to help control/ monitor this situation, have trust. More important for us at Monbulk I believe is that we have used the Sunday as an unOfficial Family Day in the past. Many supporters would pop in. We Would have a BBQ with partners, wives, kids. It was a relaxing day shared with many different generations of our club. That has been lost the last 2 years.
4. Extra Day for Ground Preparation: Line Marking, PA, DVD etc This may suit but how is it organised for 2nd Div? We somehow do it. Find other companies, find other ways - Are they changing a higher rate cos its on a Sunday??
5. Umpires what do they prefer - the players hate it?
6. Admission Numbers on the increase because on Sunday. Not sure on this. 9 teams competing is good for the gate. How accurate were the figures in the past? Poor weather conditions etc.
I would feel it has more to do with our professionalism of the league, better standard football, competiting teams & Netball than it has to do with Sunday.

Before we go onto next year now most clubs have been involved (9) I think it should be put back to the club presidents to give there clubs verdict - Yes or No
Much of this maybe taken as hearsay. But on the weekend It would have been good if somebody at each gate was quickly doing a survey asking "Saturday or Sunday GF what do you prefer?" would be interesting what the results would have been.

Lowlight of the day was what can only be described as an embarrising mistake by the field umpire in the reserves game. I hope his decision hasn't set a precedent that other clubs may take advantage of. Many at the ground couldn't beleive what they were witnessing.

Cagga its not your fault or the clubs it was an out and out digraceful decision made by an umpire. A decision that left one club severly penalised and the other with a huge advantage. Im sure we are hoping a precedent hasnt been set for future games.

Im sure you and your umpire buddies do.

Humpa, you are so predictable. Biased beyond belief!
The Burras get done and you bleat that the umpires are biased and/or that Warby keep getting the rough end of the stick. Warby were physical in the first half and paid the penalty. Too many of your posts are pushing the same line and you are sounding like a spoilt brat. Grow up and open the other eye ......or take up draughts!
